2001年にRecord LabelとしてTOKYO、LONDONをベースにスタートした Audio Sutraは『FREEMAN/My Dear Masters』の12inchリリースを皮切りに Ian Simmonds、West London Deep の remix を加えての Mini Album『My Dear Masters』をリリース。同時期にFREEMANのメンバーである Sahib が Japan Tour や Festival で出会った Musician達 の音源を集めたCompilation Album『Breath of Chain』をOriental ExpressのメンバーであるDubsapの監修によりリリース。その後、メンバー個々の活動が多忙になりレーベル活動の休止を余儀なくされるが、 2007年 Sahib、Dubsap により Recording Artist「Audio Sutra Sound」として復活。
2008年、Audio Sutra Soundは新メンバー Saaraを加え、Sahib、Dubsap、尺八プレイヤーのKenji Ikegamiによる12inch『Assassin』をRUDIMENTSよりリリース。Dubstep のフォーマットに尺八の音色がアブストラクトに浮遊するオリエンタルトラックは、Gilles Peterson がナビゲートするJ-WAVE「WORLDWIDE」での Sahib による Dubstep Mix Show において先行オンエアーとなり、リリース前にもかかわらず話題となった。DJ・LIVEでレギュラー出演中の「Version -dub experience-」@中目黒solfa では、Rob Smith a.k.a RSD を招くなど精力的に活動中。2009年、RUDIMENTSよりフルアルバムをリリース予定。
