Thanks for the add! If you haven’t already, please check out my novel, GETTING IN TUNE, and hear the fictional Killjoys at www. rogertrott. com. The story is about an angst-ridden guitarist who drags his band to a gig on Washington's Olympic Peninsula in search of the transcendent power of Pete Townshend’s Universal Chord. It’s a wild ride through the world of ‘70s rock & roll. Best—Roger Trott
Have you been up Shit Creek yet? No? Then you'll want to submit poems to Shit Creek Review's 'History and Memory' themed issue, due online in February '09. Submissions need to be in by 1st December. And if you have been up the Creek before, well, naturally you'll want to do it all over again. See the Submissions page at http://www. shitcreekreview. com/ for explanations, details, email address, submission form, PayPal details for bribes, etc.
A reminder that The Chimaera, too, is open for submissions until 1st December. The theme is Light Verse, and British Poet John Whitworth (who edited The Faber Book of Blue Verse) is the guest editor for that section -- so lighten up! But you can also submit general prose and verse for our Open Slather section. Go to http://www. the-chimaera. com/ and you should find a Submissions page somewhere there without too much trouble.
..and, any chance of you guys interviewing Sean next Wed about his new book and our press launch...let us know. Cheers - David & Graham. smallchangepress@smallchangepress.com
Paths cross and bridges grow, no doubt, Meanwhile, you might want to know what This Slamophone trip is about.
It all started with the idea Poetry's too live, too diverse, each syllable - unsellable, every ephemerical verse being too fierce to be coerced Speech is the one right we have left Tongue slamming, spinning, tables turning, and France cannot be left for deaf.
So with a camera in hand, we've taken the country by storm videalistic is the spirit, originality the norm. We started out with 50 vids, now we are up to 360, from Montreal down to Marseille, from Pointe-à-Pitre to Gai Paree.
Take any door and come on in. Be curious, you will be served : 360 clips around our way, 360 clicks around the word …
The poet whose body I rent – David Stavanger - is trying to deny my very existence & become a “serious” poet by releasing his own book without me (even though I ghost wrote 1/4 of the book....the good quarter!). If that wasn’t enough, he also plans to divorce me on the night – literally – claiming I didn’t put out and was nothing but a hackneyed alter-ego! So come along and bring the G-boy love on the night to see me gatecrash this little soiree...also Skye is playing, and she rocks glass hearts!
