A/V Murder 7" EP
I might be the only person awaiting new White Savage material, but if this is what Jimmy Hollywood and other Chicago nervous eaters like Bill from Cococoma (hey, they’re still around, right?) are gonna dish us in the meantime, I, for one, am superfuckinghappy. Maybe exactly what you’d expect; intense jittery knife-edged punk much like Tyrades,... but as good as ever and it’s nice to hear this paranoid sound again. Somehow, it’s soothing. Like walking the streets in a really evil mood and the secret joy that comes with imagining killing everyone in devious ways and smiling to yourself. Or maybe that’s just me.(EEK) - TERMINAL BORDOM

A/V Murder 7" "missile command" EP
A/V murder is loud, noisy, infectious, and perfectly abrasive. they're from Chicago and feature jim from the Tyrades as one of the guitarists. The highlight of tis EP is the guitar work. While one gutair keeps the rhythm, the other guitar grates and scrapes, plays lots of notes, and sometimes sounds like it's bathing in reverb. There's a cut-and-paste style at work and occasionally the "lead" guitar plays in time, as if it only sometimes remembers there's a song happening. This is my favorite style of guitar playing by the way. Oh, and there's other instruments on this EP as well - the bass is super low-toned and repetitive and the drums keep things loud and simple. The vocals are slurred and sound slowed-down and altered, which adds to the odd factor. Anyhow, although A/V Murder is modern in its weirdness, i like what they're doing a lot better than most of what's coming out in this scene at this moment. (CI) MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL
