It consists of 4 members:
Taro Koda (Guitars, Vocals) Male
Shino Koda (Guitars, Vocals) Female
Shiori Mihara (Bass) Female
Ari Hautasaari (Drums) Male
In 1999, Shino formed the initial incarnation of the band, Awful.
At first, Shino recorded songs as a solo musician,"Awful".
In 2002, Taro, Shino's brother, joined Awful as a vocalist and guitarist. The two began working together, formally deciding they named the band 'Awful'.
Then, Awful has got moving.
A few years later, Hiroshi ,bassist , joined Awful.
In April 2005, Hiroshi passed away after a long battle with leukemia.
Before the dark day of doom, Awful had been more an alternative rock band than a heavy rock / metal band.
After that, Awful has preferred to be a metal band.
In 2006, Faywings joined Awful as a support drummer.
In 2007, Shiori joined Awful as a bassist.
In 2008, Ari joined Awful as a drummer.
2009 wil be an awfully exciting year for the band.
Armed with a new member and the posture, Awful looks forward to playing in front of rock fans in Kyoto!!!

All the vocal melodies, guitar parts and lyrics were written by Taro Koda in 2003.
They formed a techno unit, The Pec Band, in 2003,
but Hiroshi passed away by leukemia in 2005,
and Awful has been playing this song.
