Arjen Anthony Lucassen is a Dutch multi-instrumentalist who in 1995 released an album called Ayreon, the first of a very successful series of progressive rock operas featuring many international guest-musicians.
Ayreon is Arjen's main project, but he also works on various side-projects. Such as Guilt Machine and Star One.

TIMELINE follows the thirteen-year evolution of Ayreon from the 1995 debut The Final Experiment to the release of 01011001 in 2008. Its 3 CDs contain 32 essential Ayreon tracks plus one brand new song recorded especially for this release -- almost 4 hours of music!
The DVD features nearly two hours of selected released and unreleased video clips, behind-the-scenes featurettes, 5.1 mixes, and live performances of Ayreon tracks (Star one and Stream of Passion versions).
The cover is a specially commissioned painting by traditional Ayreon cover artist, Jef Bertels. Comes with a double-sided poster (cover art + Ayreon timeline) and a 56-page booklet containing many new photos, all lyrics, and notes on the story.
