Babaluca is a new alternative bi-lingual rock band based in Phoenix, Arizona. Consisting of three members, Carla Morrisson (lead vocals, keyboard), Nicolas Kizer (drums, guitar), and Niki Petta (vocals, guitar, drums), the trio has tastefully woven together a uniquely strong, often refreshing, melodic-pop sound that blends their influences from different artists and cultural backgrounds.
Babaluca formed in May of 2007 en-corporating English and Spanish into their songwriting. The trio has opened up for many acts such as Bosque Discotecha, Kinky, and Babasonicos. They also have interviewed with many Los Angeles Latin Radio stations from the likes of "Grita Radio USA", "Toxinas" and "Al Borde" in addition to receiving a Stylos award for "The Best Indie Latin Band of 2008" for Arizona.
Babaluca is constantly exploring their sound through different arrangements and instruments. Each piece is strung together with rhythmic melodies, strong mighty riffs, and vocals that sweetly and sharply cut right through to the heart.
For the listener, each song reveals a range of emotions both powerful and soft, meaningful and danceable.
Babaluca es una nueva banda de Rock Bilingue Alternativa basada en
Phoenix Arizona. Consiste de 3 personas, Carla Morrison (vocalista principial,
teclados), Nicolas Kizer (bateria,guitarra), y Niki Petta (vocalista,guitarra y
bateria), el trio tiene un sabor que al ser mezclado es muy unico y fuerte,
siempre tan refrescante, con sonidos pop-melodicos que viene y acoplan
de sus diferentes influencias musicales y artistas de diferentes culturas.
Babaluca se formo en Mayo del 2007 incorporando ingles y espaniol en su
composision lyrica. El trio a compartido escenarios con bandas como Bosque Discoteca,
Kinky y Babasonicos como tambien an sido entrevistados por varias estaciones
de radio de Los Angeles California desde Grita Radio USA, Toxinas con
Audio Elemental Radio hasta Al borde como tambien haber recibido el premio
a La Mejor Banda Latina Indie de Arizona para el 2008.
Babaluca sigue constantemente explorando su sonido por diferentes cambios e intrumentos.
Cada pieza esta atada con melodias ritmicas, fuerte rasgeos y con unas voces
que con una linda sensacion cortan directamente al corazon. Para el oyente
cada cancion revela un rango de diferentes emociones con poderosas hasta
suavecitas sensaciones con significado que pegan, hasta bailables.
