Stephan and AJ have been in THE FYNECRY before with Oli Lothwesen (drums), Rainer Nagel (guitars), Frank Voss (synths, backing vocals) and Ilona (synths, backing vocals). The Fynecry have released a 12" It's Not The Time (b/w Do it). "Do It" on our "And Then We Danced" Album is a new 2007 edit of that old tune.

We plan to combine electro and post punk with glam rock (T Rex, Bowie, early Queen). How will this sound like?!? Hm: picture Depeche Mode in the days of "Songs Of Faith and Devotion" clashing late 70s and modern shoegaze / post punk (Joy Division, The Sound, The Chameleons, Snake Corps, ...) with early 70s glam rock guitars from the finest T. Rex, Bowie, Queen, Eno, Cockney Rebels, Roxy Music, The Sweet). But our music will always have a strong influence of punk and post new wave! Well typical Ballad Bombs, in a way, one will never be able to properly pigeonhole us as we are what we are!

Our first album is PURE 80s! No wonder: all the songs have been written and recorded in the mid/late 80s or early 90s and just recently been reedited for the 07 album release. but:

THE BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED, our upcoming (difficult!!!? WHY?) second album, currently emergencing, will be quite different and rougher and with an up-to-date sound than the old songs! THE BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED is an experiment! We will combine industrial and electro new wave, let's say the sound of Depeche Mode in the glory days of their fantastic "Songs Of Faith And Devotion" album with early 70s glam rock guitars and feelings (like Queen, Smile, Eno, Bowie in their good old days) and we will of course add the typical sad Ballad Bombs post punk athmospheres.
AND THEN WE DANCED was recorded in the late 80s and the album is what it is - never mind! WE WERE YOUNG (and needed the money;)Back in the days our favourite bands have been Depeche Mode, Joy Divison, The Smiths, The Police, The Stranglers and Wall Of Voodoo, but also glamrock bands, such as Bowie, early Queen, T Rex, Roxy Music, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. We have received a few bad reviews for the album as well as exceptional doxologies. Well after all ATWD is a late (re)-release of the first album of three naive young German dudes playing and singing some music that they really liked by that time...

Ballad Bombs are a shoegaze/ post punk/ electronic/ post industrial indie band based in Germany. We are currently working on new songs (you will find demo versions alrteady on our Last FM profile ... and maybe here, too). The new album shall be released in late 2010 and will be called „The Beautiful And Damned“.
The new Ballad Bombs sound on our forthcoming album will be dark and electronic. We started as young students with a punk/ electro punk and new wave sound and recorded one album: „And Then We Danced“ . It has been re-released in 2007. On this, our first album, And Then We Danced, originally released in the late 80s, we were inspired by New Wave and post-punk, such bands as The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Sound, Joy Division, Wall Of Voodoo, The Chameleons, etc. The album is available on Itunes, Last FM and of course you can buy the CD on Amazon, etc …

thank you Armin for the message. fun = money. congratulations. the bbq is way too busy for my taste. we are going to have to hire more people to do my job. the economy is bad and the chief is about the only place that is busy everyday. its a blessing. soon we wont have to spend the money we earn repairing the building and will get to keep some of the money. we had 2 big problems with 2 seperate taxing agencies. these agencies r very new to us. apparently we were failing to file some correct paperwork. it took us 2 months to get it all together. then we never filed our business taxes and got charged a penalty. it is all very confusing. sometimes i forget what taxing agency i am speaking to. peace and thanx for the message, we love to here from yall.
