Banska is singer /song writer Rowena Knight. She is based in Birmingham and proves that creativity and originality are still alive in contemporary acoustic music. This is Folk music with a unique atmospheric sound and driving rhythms with a rocky edge. At the centre of Banska's material are Rowena's lyrics. They are about change, life and imagination and are always thought provoking. Banska also prides herself on the "docu-song".....relating a true story over driving and atmospheric music.
Great original songs, played and sung very well - from gentle to powerful. My favourite probably "3 hours". I've always liked that chord progression and wouldn't mind covering that myself - I think a Lou Reed / Kevin Ayres style would work well with that.

Its been a crazy last quarter to the year for us. What with politicians, politics and mysterious, magically, disappearing discs aplenty. The Government is spinning wildly . . . out of control, lol.
