Bare Threads on XFM
Bare Threads was born in August 2007 out of a love of music, djing, dancing and festivals, with the band wanting to create music that prolonged the dancing and festival spirit long after the Summer was over. Making the most of their musical education provided by years of digging in the crates (two of the group are djs) and listening to all sorts the band holed up in the studio in a rewarding collaboration.
Take a spoonful of Jo, a portion of Adam, a pint of Jack and a mug of Tom. Mix well and leave in a room for a few months. Serve up a Bare Threads treat, Share with friends. Best served with a cool rum and coke or a vodka and lime...
Recent reviews:
We were delighted to find that we are currently a featured band on the music site Bandman!
"Extremely proficient soulful blues with funk and jazz influences. Definitely a band you can shake your... well, whatever... to. Sassy vocals and itchy-fingered bass weave in and out of choppy guitars and shuffling drums. All told, a treat for the ears. Have a listen and see if you agree!"

CHEERS BANDMAN - you are brazilliant x
Bend your peepers this away to have a gander!
"Bristol-based band the Bare Threads may be new on the local scene (having just played a handful of venues to date) but they are already shaping up to be a strong outfit. They played out to a sweaty (if a little smelly) full house at the Croft on Wednesday February 28 and delighted all with their clean hustle and bustle. In fact, within the first few seconds the band had a real sharp togetherness that, among their contemporaries is somewhat rare.
The Bare Threads definitely had the jostle-swivel and the tight musical handshake that they needed to captivate the audience...Keep your eyes peeled for this Bristol band."

Epigram
"Bare Threads are a group from Bristol who are currently rising up at a stupendous pace, having laid down their first songs in the studio mere weeks ago. However, you'd be hard pressed to spot the wetness behind their ears from the tracks that they have delivered from these sessions. Two of the group are certified crate diggers and the love of good music through the years shines through with a sound that draws from the past and the present.
Killer Track does exactly what it says on the tin as the band showcase their mixture of funk, soul and rock plus their ability to spot a good tune. Starting with the lightest of jazzy riffs vocalist Jo sets up the tune by laying down her intentions before the heavier percussion and bass line kick in. One of those tunes that I like more and more each time I play it, I'm seriously expecting big things from this band over the next twelve months as they keep up Bristol's superb musical heritage."

Sorry we never made it out to Mr Wolfs, to be honest we were in a bit of a state, having resolved to hold back on the drinking Friday night and not die early on in our weekend adventure, I can't actually remember exactly how we ended up making any decisions or finding any direction.
We went to Lakota in the end and wasted many a penny on illicit merchandise! Good Bristol time though!
We can but thank you guys ENORMOUSLY again for helping us out with everything, equipment, getting paid and just EVERYTHING.
We would love to play with you again if anything possible comes up just get in touch.
Not wishing to diss your demos, but I thought you sounded a lot better onstage on Saturday, and was even a little surprised at how good!
Good luck in the future! See you again soon, and I (Gav) may well come check you again when I move back to Bristol.
ps. If you know anyone to speak to about the Cooler (what's Espionage) we'd appreciate a heads up - haven't managed to get a gig there yet in our fledgling musical careers.
