About Battle of the Bands Spirit57

The Academy presents 'The Academy Battle of the Bands 2008'.

The GRAND FINAL is this Thursday 1st May.

60 bands signed up to compete for the ultimate prize... to play at "OXEGEN 2008". The winning band will also get their songs aired on the radio, and get €1000 recording time in Dublin's top recording studios.

The Quarter Finals saw 20 of the most exciting new acts in Ireland battle it out for a place in the final. 5 bands have now been selected to play in the final of the competition which will be held on Thursday 1st May as part of the Heineken Green Energy Festival.

A LIVE PERFORMANCE AT OXEGEN 2008

Not only that but the winner will also receive €1000 worth of studio recording time PLUS radio airplay for one of their songs. The Final will take place as part of the Heineken Green Energy Weekender in May.

Thought Phantom would have the sense to have punters vote for 2 bands.Don't want to comment on any band that should or shouldn't have won. Just disappointed that the competition is as irrelevant as most other Battle Of The Bands.The best band won't be playing Oxygen but whoever wins, there will be a big crowd of their mates there to see them.
