In complete secrecy, they are now spending their time in the rehearsal room, working on tracks for a new album. They are set to play some club shows in Europe and will headline several festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland this Summer….. ..August 2008:.. After a sold-out tour of Germany and Austria, headlining some of the biggest festivals in Germany and a final show at Berlin’s Wuhlheide stadium (capacity of 17000), the Beatsteaks announce that they’re going to take a break... ..May 2008:.. Release of "Kanonen auf Spatzen", their first live album, featuring a DVD of live footage. It includes a double live-CD (or triple vinyl) with songs recorded during the “.limbo messiah tour” as well as complete live footage of the Wuhlheide show on a separate DVD. Enters the German album charts at number five. .. ..July 2007:.. Tour of Germany and Austria, almost completely sold out. More than 17000 people come to see the already legendary final show at the Wuhlheide in the Beatsteaks’ home town of Berlin... ..March 2007:.. Release of ".limbo messiah". Eleven songs weren’t enough, so the band shot the 30-minute film "Demons Galore", which is included as a bonus DVD in the deluxe edition of ".Limbo Messiah". The album enters the German album charts at number three and goes gold... ..November 2005:.. The first Beatsteaks DVD "Die B-Seite" is released and reaches gold status in Germany. The self-produced film documenting the band’s history is screened in selected cinemas across Germany; all screenings are completely sold out... ..Summer 2005:..
