Computer vs. Banjo's new video for 'Guitars need a sinner's touch'-directed by Laura Crosta and edited by Nage
The Hawk, video as seen on Burton.com. Featuring songs by Beau and his project Computer vs. Banjo
"Along with other creative young players such as Abigail Washburn, Casey Driessen, Noam Pikelny and Chris Thile, Stapleton doesn't let bluegrass boundaries or any other presupposed ideas of acoustic music hinder his aesthetic spirit."
-The Tennesean
"It just has that feel... the vibe, the instruments, the tempo … it’s got it all.
Stapleton constructs rich songs with intriguing lyrics, beautiful harmonies, and his signature mandolin."

BIO
I grew up on the west coast, mostly Reno/Tahoe and San Francisco. Started playing guitar and exploring rock and roots music when I was in my early teens. Along the way I gravitated toward the mandolin and the music of Southern Appalachia, the Depression and anything from the early days of regional American radio. After some time giging in all sorts of bands and stints of time in Colorado and Vermont I landed in Nashville where I have called home for over four years. That last move was precipitated by a chance run in with a guitarist/songwriter Luke Reynolds somewhere in the inner reaches of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. . . he was starting a band in Tennessee with a bunch of guys like myself who grew up on rock music but ended up with acoustic instruments in their hands. The band was Blue Merle and we lived/toured and did just about everything together for the next four years. Someone, somewhere on the internet summed it up like this:
“After releasing their debut album, BURNING IN THE SUN(Island/Def Jam) in February 2005, the title track quickly became a top five radio hit. The band headlined nationally and performed at such prestigious events as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo Music Festival and Farm AID. Along the way they got to share the stage with an incredible array of acts including Neil Young, The Dave Matthews Band, Badly Drawn Boy, J.J. Cale, The Counting Crows, Guster, John Mayer and Donavon Frankenreiter. They made their national television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) and went on to perform on A&Es Breakfast with the Arts, Vh1's save the music and CBS Saturday Early Show.”
Since we disbanded in early 2006 I have been getting back to writing and recording my own music, some of which was just released on my ep ‘Will I Shine for You Still’. I have been diving into production/programming and a whole bunch of instruments to capture some of the sounds and songs I hear in my head. Aesthetically I have been searching for ways to blend the folk textures and songwriting with the more experimental sounds of rock and electronic music. Thanks for checking out the page.

I saw you Sunday at Avo's and was very impressed, and my mom was pretty excited about your tenor guitar! Even though I started feeling a little ill partway in, I didn't want to leave and miss any of the performance! Glad I stayed -- and yes, I felt better by the end! Keep up the good work and come back to Northern Colorado soon!
Beau, Thanks for adding me! Had a great time seeing you & Di at NO Fork Fest, thanks for giving me your myspace info so I could score your EP (I was out of cash when the urge overcame me at the festival!) Sure hope the hard copy limited edition is still available, since it includes the lyrics and I am a hard copy lyric junkie. If not, I'll get it off iTunes.
You keep being you and get your buns out here to CO again, soon -- you rock! Love ya!
Beau'ster - Good deal. That worked well, purchased the Nickels and Dimes track from SNOCAP, INC. through PayPal. Easy and quick, thank you. That was nice of you to put it up there for me, to download. I really appreciate that. Have a great week.
