About me: I'm a grad student of music performance and culture by day, a political noisemaker by night. Through intellectual work, I seek social justice in revealing parts of the cultural mechanisms that perpetuate social hierarchy and giving voice to the socially disenfranchised. I walk on the edges of academia doing radical politics with a particular bend in issues that concern Asian Americans, women and queer individuals. My current long-term project revolves around the racial and aesthetic negotiations of grassroots Asian American musicians in the contemporary US musical landscape. You can follow me on Twitter.
On the non-verbal side of things, I compose music and make noises out of analog and digital parts. I'm into exploring sonic possibilities with pinko communoids (pinkos.info), Grapefruit Experiment on an electric guitar, accordion, some effect pedals and paper clips, and a Nakashi surf rock band Dzian!. I'm a member of the HzCollective experimental music group. Visit me at: www.beingwendyhsu.info

Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

Are there other collectives, like yours, in other parts of the country? It sounds like a great idea, to collaborate with like-minded folks in a neighboring city.
