REVIEWS of STONE'S REACH (2009):
(More coming Soon!)

Metal-Observer.com: 9/10 - Read review here
"There's a huge complexity to the band's arrangements that puts them above and beyond most of their peers, making each song come across as a simply colossal and cinematic metal experience..."

MetalStorm: 9/10 - Read review here
"Stone's Reach is filled with examples of clever changes of pace, mournful solo-esque guitar work and extraordinary melodies... a work of dark beauty... a piece of art."

MetalReview.com: 8/10 - Read review here
"Be'lakor are a killer, killer band that simply leave a craving for more. And as it stands, Stone's Reach is masterfully executed, strikingly pure, and crackling with vigor. Most melodic death albums these days are content to rehash--Be'lakor's mission is to refresh..."

Lords Of Metal: 93/100 - Read review here
"Mentioning highlights has no sense at all, because ‘Stone’s Reach’ is one entire masterpiece, made by five inspired musicians..."

Treehouse of Death: 9/10 - Read review here
"Be'lakor aren’t limited to the narrow confines of Melodic Death Metal... [this release] further solidifies them as one of the more important new groups to watch for in the popular genre of melodic progressive Death Metal... "

Teeth of the Divine: Read review here
"...pure, blissful, despondent melodies... some of the most gorgeous riffs, atmospherics and time changes you’ll hear in a long time."

MetalReviews.com: 89/100 - Read review here
"...an absolutely killer album with real class... few others could pull it off..."

MetalObsession.net: 9.2/10 - Read review here
"I hear next to zero flaws on an album that could well be the pinnacle of 2009..."

Metal.de (in German): 9/10 - Read review here

The Fallout Magazine (print):
"…as soon as the band’s first few notes seeped out from my CD player’s speakers, I was instantly hooked… I thoroughly enjoyed this album from beginning to end… [this album is] a gargantuan effort…"

REVIEWS of THE FRAIL TIDE (2007):

Metal Reviews: 88/100 - Read review here
"Moving in a distinctly Progressive direction... Australian riff-artists Be'lakor [produce] what could well be the best Melodeath album ever made..."

Treehouse of Death: 9/10 - Read review here
"...belligerent catchy riffs and incredibly melodic twin solos masterly peppered with mesmerizing piano/synth work, accidental folk inclusions and thunderous inhuman growls... 43 absolutely slaying minutes..."

Metal Review (Album of the Week): 6/6 - 5.5/6 - 6/6 - Read review here
"The Frail Tide just oozes metal perfection at almost every note, riff, solo and synth line ... for you fans and labels reading this, if I can give my ringing endorsement to another unsigned band...this year that deserves your attention right now, it’s Be’lakor. ”

MetalStorm: 8/10 - Read review here
"Lead and rhythm entwine very well, and produce quite masterful sounds. Recommended."

Way Too Loud: 4/5 - Read review here
"... they achieve something very difficult in songs that lack that sort of verse/chorus structure, which is to really build songs up...Finally, a band with an interesting take on melodic death metal, and a new look on doom/death."

Lords of Metal: 90/100 - Read review here
"This is an extraordinary debut... raucous, epic and glorious."

Be'lakor 2009

A dark, melodic death metal band from Melbourne, BE’LAKOR has quickly come to be regarded as one of Australia’s most promising and creative metal acts.

Two years elapsed between the independent release of their 2007 debut, "The Frail Tide", and the release of the follow-up, "Stone's Reach." During this period the band’s international reputation grew rapidly, largely on the back of high acclaim from reviewers and the word of a dedicated and ever-growing fan base. Drawing influences from the natural world and the perpetual struggle between destruction and life, Be’lakor creates songs that take the listener on a compelling journey.

Be'lakor's highly anticipated second album, Stone’s Reach, was released on June 20, 2009. The band ventured across Australia for the first time in support of this album, taking in performances in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane & Sydney.

I do my best to enjoy all the songs on an album (this isn't pop haha) but Venator would be one, a very nice transition shortly after the start. Aspect is a favourite as well, I like songs that encompass different speeds sounds, give a better representation of imagination. But still it's all good, keep it pure and it'll stay alive (y)

Hi Steve,

and i thank you for adding. I admit, that I geared the aussie scene. If you didnt write to me, i wouldnt think of where are you from. Just I know only Abigor and some pop interprets. About your band i learned from this site http://www.metalstorm.ee/bands/albums_top.php?album_year=2009. I havent wade thoroughly the entire plate, but the first song is excellent.

Take care,
Petr

Hey, Yeah man gotta say overall I love both albums,
From 'The Frail Tide' The Desolation Of Ares and Sanguinary are probably my favourite tracks and from 'Stones Reach' Sun's Delusion and Outlive the Hand are pretty killer tracks, gotta say like all other Aussie Death Metal bands you guys are bloody amazing..... Oh Yeah heard about your music from Trevor O'kell, not too sure if you know him or not.
Keep up the good work guys
