Bellatrix is the Female Beatboxing World Champion and an important figure in the UK beatbox scene. Having been pushing the female beatbox scene for some years, Bellatrix is arguably the first girl to ever really be on a par with the best males on the scene. As well as having a clean and powerful sound, Bellatrix has the advantage of being a trained musician; she currently studies jazz at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music (one of the top conservatoires in Europe) where she majors on the double bass. Current projects for Bellatrix include her very own all female vocal quintet the Boxettes (www.theboxettes.co.uk) and folk/hiphop hybrid band "Dizraeli and the Small Gods" fronted by prolific poet and rap artist Dizraeli, for whom Bellatrix plays the Double bass and beatboxes. Bellatrix is also to be runnung the UK's first ever female beatbox championship as part of the international human beatbox convention in June 2011.
