"really nice"
"sweet, naive, innocent but gorgeous"
- bethan elfyn on radio 1
Bertel was born in Rhandirmwyn, Wales, he grew up on a small farm in a gorgeous little valley (and yes, his father really did lay hedges... amongst other things).
He moved to Kingston, where he currently lives, to study music, he now works for an organic food company and writes music on the side.
Bertel has had some songs played on the radio by the lovely Bethan Elfyn, he has also had his first symphony performed by the Kingston Chamber Orchestra.
Hopefully he will be playing more shows in the not too distant future.
Bertel is formulating a plan to record a full album over the next few months, featuring old and new songs.
Bertel is getting married to Jenn in June 2009 - please congratulate him heartily

Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
I'm really enjoying your music...it's very cool..and quite different...be lovely if you came on Weds..if not ...soon! Let me know if you are performing..
Hey Bertel, I'm glad you like my songs. The ones up that are improvised are Floating Leaves and Pondering.
Yes Emmylou is amazing, and yes Where Will I Be is a great song, but I love Boulder to Birmingham best, she wrote it about Gram Parsons and it's so sad but beautiful, always gets me!
I definitely am going to gig more, and so should you too, and not just in your cupboard.
hey!! thanks for looking and hopefully listening... we hope you like the sounds coming from your speakers... we salute you... all the best except the general
Hey Bertel. I've just got back from visiting Sarah (who always used to be at Rubi with me) in NYC and I thought you'd like to know that we sang your song Christopher almost every night as we waited for the train in the subway called Christopher. We could only remember about 4 lines so we just sang them over and over again; 'oh Christopher, Christopher my only friend, noone hurts Christopher, his nose starts to bleeeeed' etc. Do we get credits on your album for introducing your music to New York? Thanks.
