Check IT! So we Ladeeze have been stuck in the underground lairs of SisTaFunk studios in currumbin for the past 3 weeks recording our new album set for release in July. We got 11 tracks, phat reggae, ska, hippity hop, and the usual harmony division recently named the Y3. we also have for our lovely listeners, heaps of special guests incuding a mini orchestral piece. WE been plugging away at newschool and oldschool tracks and have rerecorded an old bertha classic. Can't tell you which so you'll have to come along to our massive album launch and tour in July. . . . . Bertha Control [noun]: five-piece, all-womyn explosion of funk, reggae, politics and soaring vocal harmonies. Renowned for lifting entire rooms of the underground into a dancing mass of euphoria, Bertha tickles your ears with a phat bass sound, chunks of funky guitars, an excitable horn section, drums, keys, flute of the forest and, of course, their famous vocal webs of harmony.
Bertha kicked some butt on JJJ unearthed with their ska song "Happiness" rated 12th most popular in the roots section. "Out of control" (the title track of their album) is placed close behind on 18 and "reconciliation" number 20. With massive airplay from 4zzz (including top 10 for 9 weeks following the release of Out of Control 2005-06), PBS, Bay FM, Nim Fm, 2NCR FM, 93.7 Edge FM and multiple other stations across OZ, the Bertha's are stoked by all the attention. Bertha has headlined Pride, Wollumbin, Stradbroke Reggae, Meow to the Moon, and Brisbane Ladyfest festivals. They have also been included on a number of Reggae and Ska compilations.
Last year Bertha Control toured all the way to Melbourne via Sydney, Woollongong, Uki and Coffs, and have visited the sunny coast and Nimbin. "Check your inhibitions at the door and prepare yourself for the sensory explosion that is the Bertha Experience" Entertainer.

We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].

Stop press! 9 Piece wall of sound 10th April @ the Loft. For this show CBD will be in fine form with the duelling vocals of Sonia Leeson & Shelly Hughes both sharing the lead, driving the music along with his great energy is Guy Anderton on the drums, shredding on the guitar is Alex McCloud one of the finest, also on guitar is skank master Bodhi Seed, the horn section is Stuart Curry on trombone with his velvet tone & Andrew Hills with his wild Saxophone, B Bassic conducting and bassing with some trippy FX, Byron Goodwin tweaks in some electronics and percussion.
