2003
Three years in the making, Frysh, Beyond Dawn's fifth full-length finally saw the light of day in August. Recorded entirely in their own studio and featuring several guest musicians, it was their most accomplished album to date, bringing the production to the fore, and featuring material that went way beyond anything the band had made before. For once the band were happy with the result themselves too and arranged their most outlandish press-shots and concerts yet. Reviews ranged from ludicrous raving to sheer disgust.
It soon became evident though that the outlandish band photos and incomprehensible cover had backfired and once again Beyond Dawn were falling between all segments of the cd buying market. Despite being their best release, Frysh became their least successful one.
The band was temporarily put on ice and focus put elsewhere.
2005
Duplicate Records, label of drummer Einar "Clubshoes" Sjurso released the double lp set We're Down With Species Of Any Kind containing remixes of Frysh tracks by various electronic artists. A cover was also recorded for a greek Immortal tribute album, to be released in 2006. In November, the acoustic album In Reverie was re-released, also by Duplicate, and the new version includes two previously unreleased tracks, and a revised cover. There are plans for further reissues and also a compilation album, but at this time nothing is decided.
