BIOGRAPHY

• ING A high dose of stamina and energy gives birth to BIKINI THE CAT. The overall sound of the band is direct, at times raw and powerful, at times sweet and melodic. In 2004 the band recorded a demo getting a critical acclaim. They won the second prize at a big competiton called AREZZO WAVE, with the collaboration of the italian newspaper "La Repubblica". Two songs were included in the soundtrack of the movie titled “Una talpa al bioparco” directed by Fulvio Ottaviano. In 2005 the band released the first LP: “Cold water, hot water, very hot water” (La Matricula/Venus). This record received excellent reviews by most national newspapers. The summer of 2005 they won the first edition of HEINEKEN JAMMIN CONTEXT. They partecipated to the most important italian music festival named HEINEKEN JAMMIN FESTIVAL and ROCK IN IDRO and opened to several artists such as The Futureheads and The Rapture. After one year of shows, in 2007 the line-up changed, the band changed their drummer. In January 2008 Bikini the cat released the second album "Me, you and the superheroes" (La Valigetta/Self). After a great tour all around Italy the band is now working on different and new projects.

• ITA Un suono energico e tagliente, melodico e dolce che trova le sue origini e i suoi sviluppi in gruppi come Elastica, Franz Ferdinand e Blur per poi maturare una propria linea. I BIKINI THE CAT nascono nel 2004 attirando l'attenzione con un demo che gli regala un secondo posto al concorso AREZZO WAVE organizzato da “La repubblica” e con due brani inclusi nel film “Una talpa al bioparco” di Fulvio Ottaviano. Nel 2005 esce il primo LP della band “Cold water, hot water, very hot water” (La Matricula/Venus) il cui album riceve ottime recensioni dalle più importanti riviste di musica e permette al gruppo di aprire a band internazionali come The Futureheads e The Rapture. Vincono la prima edizione dell’ HEINEKEN JAMMIN CONTEXT che gli permette di suonare all'HEINEKEN JAMMIN FESTIVAL. Nel 2008, dopo il cambio del batterista e dopo due anni di tour in tutta la penisola dove la band ha potuto maturare il suono, pubblicano il secondo LP “Me, you and the superheroes” (La Valigetta/Self). Successivamente al tour di presentazione del secondo lavoro discografico il gruppo prende una pausa per dedicarsi ad altri e nuovi progetti.
