"Fortune & Folly" is an album that must
be experienced. Atmospheric and almost downright spooky, its melancholy
is rich, while the harmonies are thick and juicy. Addictive." -J-Sin

"Birch Book writes music that is almost painfully
pleasurable to listen to. This is still true folk music in the striking
power of its simplicity. The relationship of artist and guitar is noticeably
intimate and the vocals drift gently, sometimes barely - deliberately
- out of the shadows. The listener's mind is caressed and the soul is
stirred." - UpchuckUndergrind,

an instrumental piece that seems to reference moments in a Satyajit Ray

Assuming the allegorical emblems of The Wheel of Fortune and The Traveling Fool, Fortune & Folly distills the introspections of a perennial rambler reckoning 'the Bitter and the Bliss' of The Road Less Traveled; Brooding layers of sound and sense yield a spectral ethereality thick with the visionary allusions of a haunted wanderer bent upon a mythic path…

B'ee spent the mid 90's recording for the dark-starred World Serpent imprint with the soporific and supernatural In Gowan Ring.
‘Birch Book’ marks an evolution in sound away from the overtly psychedelic towards a simpler, highly effective, direct song based approach, reflecting the distillations of a perennial rambler, reckoning a road less traveled.
This album is not what many expect, it is not overly experimental or droning but it simultaneously brings the older mystical folk into the current and points a new individualistic way forward for the artist.
Howdy! Awesome tunes in here! Like it a lot. Thanx for the accept. Really appreciate it. Wish you an awesome Wednesday! Rock and Rollon =) All the best from Norway and Merlin's Company
