Day dreams, summer nights in Paris, the harbor community of San Pedro, Casio 8 bit sampling, being a divorce child, The Indie Scene, multiple relatives with the same first name, folk dancing, glockenspiel symphonies, train commuting, The Beatles and The Stones, Joanna Newsom and Yo La Tengo. To mention a few things.
We happily announce that our album In Foreign Countries has arrived with the postal service from the US! To get it you can either contact us or buy it from www.sandboxtreerecords.co.nr.
Birds on Holiday was formed in the island of Gotland in the easter of 2006. It all starts much earlier in history though. The song writing duo made up by brother Jesper and sister Josefin go way back as a hard working comradeship. Basically they have been playing together as long as Josefin has been able to hold an instrument. Drummer Peter met Josefin and Jesper in the band My Sweet Life in 2005. Recently Robert has joined as long awaited bass player.
Birds on Holiday have recorded their debut album themselves on a couple of different occasions during 2006-2007. The first session was a five day stay in Johans house in beautiful Dalarna. We are still thankful for that J and H! The second session took place in Sollentuna Stockholm, in the aunties house - where there was a tuned piano. It was awesome to finally get Josefins piano based songs on tape. Somehow we feel that inspiration is best inside the city. Music making is better outside, where it will be quiet, so we can make some noise some noise some noise some noise.
Thank you for stopping by, love from the Birds on Holiday.
Ps. here is a clip from a show at Landet february 15 2008.
Hej! Jag har lagt upp en ny låt och kommer lägga upp fler med några veckors mellanrum. Hoppas det finns någon i etern som tycker det är lika fint som jag! Kram Calle

Jesper, I thought Take It To The Sunshine made a double-good summer song in 2006. Then after realising it also made a double-good summer song this year, I just think it's a damn good summer song. ....especially in the El Segundo sunshine!
Hope you attend the next conference whenever it's in Los Angeles.
"I Had A Plan" sounds good listening to it in front of my computer, but it sounded a lot better driving on the Harbor Freeway with a Swede in the passenger seat.
Paris is only 3892 miles (6263 km) (3382 nautical miles) from where I live in the U.S. otherwise I would have made it to your show on Saturday. So, any video or live recording?
