Who I'd like to meet:
THE BIRD'S ROBE COLLECTIVE PROUDLY PRESENTS....
BRC Collective mainstays, Space Project, will be launching their upcoming EP at the Excelsior Hotel on the 24th of July, supported by the always enthralling Shanghai, Meniscus and Esau.
Based on their incredible set at last months Progfest, this is no doubt going to be a highlight of the Prog Rock calendar in Sydney and you would be a fool to miss such an event.
The doors open at eight sharp. Don't be late!

FAQ
What the hell are you? An organisation dedicated to the promotion and continuation of Sydney's progressive and experimental music scene. For any more information, come along to a gig! You'll find out pretty quickly there.
Why the hell are you? We came about through an almost complete lack of progressively minded or influenced bands in Sydney that don't tend towards metal. This is not any kind of slight on the standard of quality of these bands, nor is it a comment on the tendencies of the Sydney music scene. But it left those on the "lighter" side of Prog without many options for support. This collective was started to bring those bands together to help each other, while maybe even making a name for themselves and their music.
In the development of the music scenes we love, we have organised many gigs and a festival, as well as connected similar styled bands to each other and to venues. We never aim to stop.
OK so WTF does "birds robe" mean? Well, first of all, it's "Bird's Robe" (perfect grammar is also an aim of this collective :P), and secondly, it means nothing. It's an ambiguous title intending to create imagery. It also makes it easier for us to design logos.

if you dont work hard, you'll never break through. thats what our manager says. i kinda believe him. but to be honest, as much as touring can sometimes be hard work, its definitely a lot harder to actually work in a proper job.
Actually, one of our songs has a bridge that changes from compound to simple times 4 times. But it doesn't have a mellotron. Maybe that's what it is missing!
Hey guys, Set Sail are also playing the Hopetoun hotel Tuesday 16th of June. We are looking forward to playing with Sicaria :D Please come at before 9 so you can see us play as well, we are on at 8. Cheers, hope to see you all there
