Nunca fue más cierto lo que dejó escrito aquel, que bastaban los 15 ó 20 primeros segundos de una canción para saber si los siguientes iban amerecer la pena. Aún más, en el nuevo disco de Biscuit son suficientes para saber si te gusta el rock o si, en realidad, estás fuera. Que tu movida es otra, vamos, que te habían contado –y te habías tragado- una copla que no es la buena.**********
Biscuit están, obviamente, dentro. Son rock, no hay duda, y un buen camino a tomar si uno quiere atajar para conocer sus secretos. Les he visto crecer, hacer canciones y dar muy buenos bolos. Si hiciera una lista de mis grupos favoritos, estarían muy arriba. Grupo modesto, honesto hasta el límite, llevan demostrando desde hace muchos años que su lugar está dentro de esa tradición de bandas europeas que tuvieron muy claro a qué engancharse tras el mal trago de los ochenta. Clasicismo mezclado con el aguerrido espíritu de la generación indie no maleada, obviamente, por los cantos de sirena de lo efímero y lo arty. Rock de guitarras que no hace ascos a la melodía, música trasparente y franca, sin concesiones a nada que no pasara el filtro más exigente y ortodoxo. No es banda no, Biscuit, para quienes, aburridos o quemados, gustan de un rock arriesgado, abierto a otras músicas para –quizá y con suerte- llegar a lugares diferentes. Por eso son lo que son. Como “Louie, Louie” o los Stones del Exile. O eres de los nuestros, o estás fuera.********
Amenazan de vez en cuando con tirar la toalla, cansados después de tantos años, quizá presionados por ese otro tipo de responsabilidades que suelen ir aparejadas a la vida adulta. Presentan cada disco como –tal vez- el último, una amenaza estéril que a la postre sólo afecta a quienes ya estamos en su feligresía. Pero a mi no me engañan. Cada uno de sus trabajos es mejor que el anterior, y Cinnamon Fadeout es, de largo, lo mejor que han hecho hasta ahora. Como para no mirarles con mala cara cada vez que sacan las penas a relucir. Mas les vale asumir su condena, y darse cuenta de que nos haremos viejos y seguiremos esperando confiados más discos. Y ellos, arrastrándose si hace falta, seguirán juntándose en el garaje de Fermín, su batería, para seguir exprimiendo rock y melodía, sacando el jugo del canon de riffs clásicos e intentar, de nuevo, dar con esa clave, esa canción –como decía Hendrik Roever- imposible de olvidar: La que resuma todas las demás.*******

Two guitars, bass and drums. The mighty Young Fresh Fellows dedicated a song to this immortal formula and the four guys in Biscuit have been faithful to it since they started playing together in 1989. Their first band, Blue Bus (which also included an organ player as the guys love the sound of a good old Hammond as well) folded in 1994 after causing a bit of a stir in the Spanish psych garage scene with an album and a few gigs all over the country. Thus, Biscuit was born. Since then, Biscuit have been busy recording four cd’s, an EP and a bunch of songs for compilations as well as playing wherever they have been invited to. Their last record, “Cinnamon Fadeout”, appeared in may of 2009 to a raving welcome both by critics and audiences. The music of Biscuit has been compared to the likes of the Jam, Soundtracks of our lives, The Hellacopters, The Prisoners, The Monarchs or Tom Petty but they prefer to simply label it “rock’n’roll music” and to the four biscuits that means everything from the Byrds and the Beatles to the MC5 or the Pretty Things. From power pop to hard rock and freakbeat, never forgetting black R&B as the primal foundation of (almost) everything they love to hear and play.
In the last few years, Biscuit have shared the stage with and deserved the praise of several top notch national and international bands including British sixties poppers Bronco Bullfrog, American hard rockers Mother Superior, garage-pop next-big-things the Boss Martians, the legendary Arthur Lee, MC5/DKT, Paul Collins Beat, Johnny Casino or The Dexateens.
¡Atención!, después del concierto hay sesión, Dj NU aka NUmetalqueen (metal load, demonix, mephisto), especial Heavy & Rock hasta las 3h, después de las 3h HITS de "todos los tiempos" (desde 60' aprox. hasta hits de este año).
