The Bit Players began in January 2007 with a dream - a dream of hilarity in Newport, Rhode Island. A small group of dedicated individuals began rehearsals, then slowly, more people joined the group. They spoke of being drawn to the short-form goodness like the contents of a china shop being drawn to a bull’s bucking legs. Shows went on, audiences laughed. More people showed up. The holiday show shattered preconceived notions of the Thanksgiving-to-Christmas corridor. Moons were eclipsed. Directors changed. Munchkins were eaten. That is the story of the Bit Players.
About me:
The Bit Players are a group of improvisers who have been performing all-improvised short form comedy for the past year (and change). Our home base is The Fire House Theater in Newport, RI, located at 4 Equality Park Place.
We perform Friday nights at 8 pm.
