Formed in Kansas City 2005 by David Lyle on lead guitar followed by his brother Nick Lyle on drums, front man Grant Apple, Devin Black on rhythm guitar and Jordan Myer on bass. Together with all of their talents they form a unique sound of rock n’ roll and to complete their package they have a stage show for the audience like none other.
In 2006 they entered Club Wars battle of the bands and won first place. In 2007 they were invited by the Royals to play at Kauffman Stadium in front of 25,000 people. In 2008 Black Oxygen was 98.9 the Rock’s Indigenous band of the month. In late 2008 lead guitarist David Lyle was awarded “best guitarist in the Midwest” by Banzai magazine. Black Oxygen has played a variety of venues including the world famous Whisky A Go-Go and the Key Club in Hollywood in support of their debut album “Black Oxygen” followed by the “Paradise EP”.
The band has formed a mature reputation in the Midwest. In 2009 fans and industry specialists have been impressed when Black Oxygen has shared the stage with performers like The Veer Union, Hurt, Sick Puppies, Josephine Collective, Skidrow and Vains of Jenna, and many more. Their new upcoming single “Destiny” will be available on iTunes October 13th. This song shows the bands powerful drive but captures the energy and connection with the audience and sound like at live shows. This is only the beginning for Black Oxygen.
