Black Peter Group are a New York/ London based band which is formed and fronted by multi media artist Gio Black Peter. There music is electro/indie/pop. What does this mean? Nothing. Because they don't let labels restrict them from making hits like "It's Fucked Up"- a fusion of hillbilly 2-step and punk. Or for that matter "Goody Two Shoes", a cover of the Adam Ant 50’s inspired rockabilly pop, which suits Gio’s distinctive vocal perfectly.
Black Peter Group has been around the globe with their "Flesh Show" tour. From Tokyo's FancyHIM party to New Yorks infamous Ruff Club, Miss Shapes, Kill Whitey parties. They've also played London at the notorious All You Can Eat, Nuke Them All, Trailer Trash & Collapsing New People parties. They've showed the kids @ the Pop In (Paris), Cabaret Furie (Paris), Frankie Attacks (Italy), Galleri S.E. (Norway), Los Ninos (Belgium), FagYou! (Helsinki) & Suck My Sound (Berlin) how to party just like they did back in "old" New York City. Back to a time when NYC was a colorful place covered with beautiful graffitti and every night out was a guaranteed adventure. And it doesn’t stop there. They have also performed at the Bergan National Academy of the Arts in Norway, Berliniale Film Festival in Berlin, Show Studio in London, the Super Super Fashion Show 08 in London & The John Conelly Gallery in New York.
Black Peter Group’s debut ep “It’s Fucked Up” was released in early 2009. It has received extensive air play on college radio stations across America. Recently the band made their U.K debut on BBC’s Radio 1 station & XFM radio. "It's Fucked Up" ep co-written and produced by Andrew Friendly is a mix of indie and electro with a touch of punk and rap.
You can also see front man Gio Black Peter in Canadian cult director Bruce LaBruce's new film "Otto, or Up with Dead People" (2008). .
