Danny and Adam first met when their best friends, at the time(who happened to be dating), invited the two to see a movie together. A sort of "double date", if you will. At the time, Danny was attending Banning High, while Adam was was going to Pedro. The movie was 2003's "Bruce Almighty", wich is really of any little importance. What does matter though, is the food fight that ensued immediately afterward, at the Jack in the Box across the street, solidifying their friendship for the years to come.
Adam sang in several bands throughout and after high school, including but not limited to, Requiem Theory, Vex Incognito, and most recently Write in the Face! which included Adam's older brother Chris, while Danny sang for the Wilmington punk act Futile Dispute.
Sometime in 2006, with Futile Dispute calling it quits and Write in the Face! coming to an end, Adam, Danny and Chris decided to form Hips Not Fists!
a Post-Punk band in the likes of Fugazi, At The Drive-In, and Broken Social Scene.
With Chris frequenlty missing practice, Adam and Danny formed Black Sparrow Press, a tribute to their love for booze, literature, writing about ex-girlfriends and all other things Bukowski related.
after a rocky start, Hips Not Fists! was put on hiatus. Chris went on to help form Teen Wolf, and the boys continued to hone their skills as Black Sparrow Press.
Chris, realizing his mistake, joined the duo, making it a trio, in winter '08. They've since recorded two EPs, their full length entitled "Embarked on a Tremendous Season" and are currently working on new material for their upcoming split release with pals BABY'S BREATH, and their 3rd ep. look for that sometime in the fall/winter of '09.
come party with us sometime.
