   About Blame Ringo
Blame Ringo are a band on a unique mission. They are using the power of song to blame Ringo Starr… for everything.

Originally billed as “Goodnight Vienna”, the band had to change its name in late 2007 after being threatened with legal action by a “Richard Starkey Jr”. Apparently "Goodnight Vienna" was the name of Ringo’s fourth studio album and although he “thoroughly enjoyed the music” he was “obligated to dissuade any profiteering which resulted from the use of his intellectual property.”

What a bastard.

After a spiteful name change (and a lot of muckraking) the new and improved “Blame Ringo” are set to have their revenge by seeking to expose the man who lays claim to inventing the ‘peace’ sign.

Flattery!

"Blame Ringo strum a gentle pop that has obvious 60s and 70s influences, but bends them carefully to the band's own focussed purposes... As a whole this is startling stuff and Blame Ringo possesses enough of their own geeky style to make them a true standout on the Brisbane scene." - Scene

"If Fleet Foxes, Beck, I’m From Barcelona and Guillemots went on tour together, Blame Ringo would be that tour — vocals that flow from hauntingly cloudiness to peppy sunlight, guitar solos that can put George Harrison to shame, and an occasional jazzy trumpet that’s like the dash of cinnamon on top of your cappuccino, taking it from delicious to pure delight." - Brainpickings.org

"Blame Ringo have had quite a media frenzy over their YouTube film clip for Gable Arch in recent times, so one could be forgiven for a certain level of scepticism regarding their show. All doubts were quickly dispelled in the vocal-harmony drenched sunny pop tunes that the group so expertly tendered. Apart from the obvious Beatles comparisons that could be drawn, Blame Ringo draw on a healthy cross-section of old school influences, with elements taken from America, The Bee Gees, and a little touch of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Very competent, very capable... they will no doubt be very successful." - Fasterlouder.com.au

"Lucky Number Nine has been one of the most pleasing debuts I have heard in a long while, as the fun and highly competent layered pop is combined with killer sixties guitar riffs. In all, they seem like excellent throwbacks by an accomplished indie band set to shake it up baby because it won’t be long until they’re propelled to match the dizzying heights of their melodious vocals." - thedwarf.com.au

"The amazing thing about Blame Ringo is that their songs aren't just good, they're simply impressive, original and for want of a better description, easy to get obsessed about." - mediasearch.com.au

"These locals have found an appealing balance – a pop group who don’t take themselves too seriously, but seriously enough to write superb songs." - Rave

“The album provides a great antidote for the drab seriousness of the current wave of Indi-electro-post-noise rock and demonstrates a high degree of song writing skills… Very refreshing.” – RTRFM 92.1

"This is great subtle pop, the kind generally made by men with beards in my opinion and I'm always a fan of it. " - Steph Hughs (Home and Hosed)
