BLENDT is a funky, rock and roll, psychedelic jazz, jam band from Houston , TX . While focusing on originals with textured arrangements that lay down a solid foundation for improvisation, blendt also jams select covers from influences such as the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, The Meters and even Kenny Loggins. This unique blend gets audiences off their seats and in their dancing shoes.
BLENDT has already impressed friends and fans with upbeat jams that go in directions not even band members could predict. Monica, already a fan after seeing blendt perform at a local open mic, says, “Watching blendt play isn't just about hearing the music. It's about catching the groove. When that happens, you can really feel it. They have a knack for getting everyone involved in the show.” On a good night, the whole audience gets into it, dancing and becoming an extension of the rhythms.
BLENDT band members have performed in various venues all over Houston , such as Last Concert Café, Fabulous Satellite Lounge, Fitzgerald's, Paesano's, the Rhythm Room and Helios. Band members have even performed at The Vibe in Austin , TX , as well as The Red Blood Club, Muddy Waters, and The Boar's Nest in Dallas , TX , and even Rikenjak's in Lake Charles , LA. Together, they are ready to rock this whole nation if they have to.
You know, my job is to sit on a computer all day listening to bands music to find talent to get into the studio, but yours has blown me away by far. If I had to pick one reason why it would be the drums. Are those bongos or congas? Whatever it is, I really like hearing that originality.
