If Louis XIV, The Clash, Bob Wills, The Violent Femmes, and The Mountain Goats all had an orgy. The resulting love child would be BLEVINS?
Yeah, back in those days this was little more than a one horse town (and the was, of course, so old it was standing on its last leg), barely more than a small congregation of farm houses. Then came the gold rush. Thousands upon thousands came in search of personal wealth. And with the crowds came a need for entertainment; gambling joints and whore houses, Turkish bath houses and oriental massage parlors. With the people came squalor, and from the squalor rose a sound of resentment laced with hope. That sound was Blevins? Ever mindful of their origins, Blevins? began playing a folk that representative of suffering of the working class, and fulfilling their need for relief. The resulting sound was a delightful mixture of Folk, Inde, and Punk.
Patrick! i had a show last night and i played a cover of "sleeping with the devil." the crowd LOVED IT. i was like "this is a song my friend patrick wrote that i like a lot. i miss him." -ann-
