BLINDVIEW is a high energy rock band based out of Charlotte, NC. Having performed hundreds of club and festival dates in the southeast, they continue to surprise audiences with their unique sound and impressive musicianship. The band describes their music simply as “rock”, yet their diverse influences include progressive rock, hard rock, metal, funk, and southern rock. Regardless of classification, the band’s unique style always leaves audiences begging for more.
Founded in late 2001, the band quickly established itself within the local club circuit as a successful cover band. Unsatisfied with performing other artist’s songs exclusively, the group began writing their own material and introducing new songs at gigs. Within weeks of debuting “Silver Machines”, a producer approached the band after a gig to use the song in an upcoming movie. To date the band now has songs in three movie soundtracks. In late 2006, the band decided to take a break from its live shows, build a small recording studio, and begin working on their debut album. Offers were made from three smaller record labels, but the band wanted to maintain complete control of their material and production, as well as time to experiment in the studio without budget constraints. BLINDVIEW’s debut album “Persistence of Vision” was completed in late 2007 and will be available for sale and distribution in February 2008. The band is currently negotiating the details of two additional movie soundtrack offers and a national advertising campaign by a major US motorcycle manufacturer.
Band members are Doug Gates (lead vocals), Kevin Vincent (guitar), Jeff Starnes (guitar), Mitch Melton (drums) and Anthony McEachern (bass).
