snowboarding, mountain bikes, backpacking, tinkering with computer networks and technology, scouting, native american culture and dance, writing music, video games (Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Guitar Hero, Metal Gear Solid, Metroid, Shin Megami Tensei, Silent Hill, Suikoden and others), manga/anime, and doing whatever strikes my wife's and kids fancy :).
Music
I'm into just about anything if it's well crafted and has passion behind it. blues, metal, alternative, punk, classical, r&b/funk, jazz, old-school hip-hop, world music, bluegrass, electronic, country, gypsy folk songs, whatever... I'm an avid seeker of video game scores (total fanboy of Michiru Yamane, Akira Yamaoka, Nobuo Uematsu, and Shoji Meguro). I also have a near borderline obsession with Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts (fans of 'Cowboy Bebop' and 'Ghost in the Shell' are already very familiar with her :) ).
Movies
A Hard Day's Night, Real Genius, The Princess Bride, Casablanca, Rosenkrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, Castle in the Sky, plus just about any James Bond film (my guilty pleasure). If there are more "making of" features than the actual movie on the DVD, I'm a happy guy (LOL!). I am a fan of sci-fi, historical drama, action, and a total Japanimation (Anime) geek. I'm currently watching Season One of "Jumong", a Korean historical epic :).
Television
I tend to watch what my kids watch, which for now means *lots* of Cartoon Network and Anime; Naruto, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fruits Basket, Cowboy Bebop, etc.). I'm also a fan of "Lost" and "the Dog Whisperer" (Cesar Millan is a total pimp :) ). Otherwise, most of my TV time is used to watch DVD's or play video games.
Books
runs the gambit from non-fiction (mostly personal finance and business related topics), tech stuff (things I need to read for work and future certifications), history, speculative fiction, and my insatiable love of Japanese manga (a hobby I also share with my kids; our house has lots of tankobon scattered around (LOL!)).
Heroes
My grandmother Kathleen was the greatest person ever in my life. I miss her lots.
16 years experience with internetworking equipment, virtualization, human interface testing, video game development, and distributed database applications. I am proud to say that I break things for a living :).

About me: I'm a Generation-X married guy with three kids, an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon to those not familiar with the full name :) ), and I make my living as a Quality Assurance Engineer in the I.T. sphere.
I sang professionally in numerous rock bands from 1985 to 1993. I snowboarded competitively in the U.S.A.S.A. Masters Division between 1998 and 2005. I'm an active Adult Leader with the Boy Scouts of America (since 1993). I am a *HUGE* fan of Native American culture, craft, music and dance. I have a deep, almost pathological love for 1953 Indian Chief Motorcycles. Mark my words, I *WILL* have one someday (LOL!) ).
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone, really :). I've already seen a lot of people I remember from way back when.
