Bob Saget's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio |
Yes, Bob Saget starred on two of the most family-friendly shows network TV has ever produced ("Full House" and "Americas Funniest Home Videos"), but he’s also an out of his mind, standup comedian for over thirty years. From his scene-stealing cameos in "Half Baked", "Dumb & Dumberer", the Showtime series "Huff," "The Aristocrats," or HBO’s "Entourage," it’s always effective as Saget embraces his dark side.
From directing MGMs cult favorite feature film "Dirty Work," to directing and producing the highly acclaimed ABC television movie, "For Hope," to starring in the, critically acclaimed, Paul Weitz off-Broadway play, "Privilege," Bob Saget shows no sign of ever stopping. His decidedly adult brand of comedy leaves his sold-out audiences welcoming Saget in a whole new light. Bob’s also the star of Jamie Kennedy’s and Stu Stone’s music video, "Rollin’ With Saget."
Out on DVD everywhere still is "Farce of the Penguins," an R-rated comedy love story, that he voiced-over, wrote, directed, and produced, with producer David Permut and Thinkfilm. "Farce of the Penguins" is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, and stars the voices of Christina Applegate, Lewis Black, Tracy Morgan, Mo’Nique, Bob, and fifty of comedy’s biggest names. Also, his hugely successful, one-hour HBO Special, "That Ain’t Right," is now out on DVD as well running on HBO.
October thru December, 2007, Bob completed his acclaimed Broadway debut as the ’Man in Chair,’ in The Drowsy Chaperone, the hit Tony Award winning musical comedy. He considers it to be one of the best experiences of his professional life. In addition, in 2008, the Comedy Central Roast of Bob aired on Comedy Central to the highest ratings on TV, second only to the Olympics.
This year, Bob’s sitcom, "Surviving Suburbia," has been airing on ABC, and will continue all summer on Fridays, 8pm/7central...And coming soon, a new documentary comedy series Bob just shot the pilot for A&E, an exploration of bizarre subcultures all over the world....As well as Bob’s guest appearance coming this 6th season of "Entourage" where he reprises the character of ’himself.’ And then there’s his upcoming stand-up tour. | | Website | BOBSAGET.COM | | Influences | MY DAD. | | Members | http://bobsaget.com/store/ | | TV Shows | Full House, America’s Funniest Home Videos, Raising Dad, (Narrator of) How I Met Your Mother, Entourage, Huff, Blowin’ Up, Law and Order SVU, 1 VS 100, HBO Comedy Special: Bob Saget: That Ain’t Right, The Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget, The Life and Times of Tim (HBO), Surviving Suburbia (ABC), Untitled Bob Saget project (A&E) | | Films | The Aristocrats, Farce of the Penguins, Half Baked, Dumb and Dumberer, directed "Dirty Work" and critically acclaimed television movie, "For Hope," based on his sister Gay's battle with scleroderma. |
