UPCOMING EVENTS

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket has moved into its seventh year of
promotions and djing.

Bonanza has been invited for the second year in a row to take part in the Camden Crawl 2010 and we are honoured to have been asked to sit on the selection commitee.

Photobucket

Bonanza was six years old on 16th September 2009 and celebrated this momentous occasion by throwing a series of very special parties beginning with a veritable DJ BONANZA on Wednesday 16th September at the Lock Tavern with a whole host of guest DJs who have spun the wagon wheels of steel at Bonanza soirees over the years.

Photobucket

Then on Thursday 24th September Bonanza threw a joint party because it was also 'Countrier Than Thou's' 2nd birthday party @ The Lock Tavern.

On the bill was very special guest DJ Mr Andrew Weatherall
with one of his legendary Rockabilly and Country sets + some Lo-Fi, Sci-Fi obscurities to mess with your heads.

+ The Florence Joelle and Sterling Roswell Band
+ Turnstile Junkpile
+ a cd giveaway of Bonanza's 'Countrier Than Thou' compilation Vol.2.

Photobucket

Later in the year the celebrations will culminate in the form of Bonanza's 4th 'The Battle Of The One Man Bands Round 4'.

Live acts to be announced + special guest DJs.

BONANZA is proud to announce that after a summer rest Tripping In The Country will be relaunching at The Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell at the same event.

Tripping In The Country will then go monthly @ The Slaughtered Lamb
www.myspace.com/trippinginthecountry

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket is very excited to announce the launch of FOUR brand new club-nights 'The High Chaparral' at The Stag in Hampstead...

'(It's) Countrier Down South' at The Rest Is Noise in Brixton (Thurs 8th October)...

'Calamity' at The Fellow in Kings Cross (Sunday 11th October 2009)

... and 'Jesus Freaks & Beautiful Losers' @ Dalston Superstore (20th October with guest DJ Richard Fearless + Many more)

Photobucket

Jesus Freaks & Beautiful Losers is a DJ led night not like anything else in the Bonanza cannon. Your hosts and special guest DJs will be spinning 10 Decades (yes that's 100 years) of underground, unheard, undiscovered, unearthed and uneasy sounds!
So expect to hear anything from Rare Appalachian Mountain music next to hard to find 60's Psych' B-sides followed by Avant Garde Jazz perhaps sandwiched between obscure 80's Norwegian Electronica, monolithic slabs of 70's Krautrock and brand new tracks from unknown up and coming acts!...
The only link will be that it's all quality tunes!
This night won't even have a fixed venue so expect to see it all over London! (Lock Tavern Wed 18th Nov)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket also hosts The Cosmic Film Club at The New Rose in Angel every 3rd Thursday of the month...
as well as monthly dj sets @ Cocomo in Shoreditch, The Regent in Kensall Green, The Stag in Hampstead and The Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket was very excited to have taken part in the 2009 N16 Fringe Festival at The Others.
Saturday 22nd August 2009 saw Bonanza presenting a knockout show to a packed house with our favourite Country-Rockers The Family + The Help + Slim Reaper + Special guest DJ Mr ANDREW WEATHERALL + A special surprise Act???... it was D-66!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket was very proud to have taken part in the 2009 Camden Crawl where we hosted a sell-out show in the form of our 'Battle Of The One Man Bands Round 3' at the Lock Tavern on Friday 24th April

BONANZA and the club nights above all form part of M.M.Music(as in Mmmm!) a promotions and management company. (currently managing Sleaford Mods)

As well as the above club nights BONANZA guest djs regularly at Andrew Weatherall's 'Double Gone Chapel, 'The Dirty Water Club, The Spitz, End Of The Road Festival Residency at The Social, In The Pines, SongBird ... (the list is endless)
So if you need someone to kick-start your night or party and keep it rocking well into the early hours please get in touch...

Bonanza was recently bigged-up in Time-Out magazine and The Guardian...

The Resonance show on Sunday lunchtimes is predominantly Country,Roots and Americana orientated; old, new and experimental...

It's a real mixed bag for example previously we have had live sessions from Josh T. Pearson + a show was dedicated to Kris Kristofferson and previewed his album, 'The Old Road'.

+ live sessions from amongst others Brent Amaker & The Rodeo, Two Fingers Of Firewater, HonkeyFinger, Syd Griffin, The Coal Porters, Michael J. Sheehy & The Hired Mourners, Christopher Rees, The Eighteenth Day Of May, The Fabulous Penetrators, Duke Garwood, Salem, D-66, The Urban Voodoo Machine etc.

Bonanza is a regular guest dj at clubs such as 'Not The Same Old Blues Crap/Fat Possum, The 'sold-out Spitz Festival of Folk with The legendary John Renbourn...

Check out the blog www.bonanzablues.blogspot.com for more details, past flyers, playlists and other info etc...

As BONANZA djs regularly around London and has a weekly radio show folks might be interested in sending promos... Oh and feel free to pass this on to interested and relevent parties.

There's no bullshit hierarchy in BONANZAs world... signed/unsigned means nothing to us we simply play stuff we like!... it's as simple as that!
BUT of course if we don't like it we won't be playing it & no favours done!

So get in touch.
