Interests

  • General

Music, sex, alt culture, sex, art, sex, long walks, blah blah blah... SEX!
  • Music

I'm an old fashion hard rock person at my soul. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, etc... All the old hard hitting bands that make music raw, powerful and shaped the future of music. I also have my Fusion side anchored by YES and branching out to all the other forms the make up the fusion world. I'm pretty open to most music, but County makes me violent for some reason so I avoid it for the safety of others. Of course I am very well versed in Celtic and a lot of folk/folk rock. Many many local bands grace my CD rack and I add more every chance I get.
  • Movies

I've recently turned into an Anime addict. Sci-fi has always been high on my list of movie rentals, as are comedy, and action films. Not much for horror. Most of the time I can do without them all together. There's too much ugly violence in the world now to want to watch if for entertainment. LOTR is a must have and I'm looking forward to planning the marathon review party of the extended version. I have an older video projector and there's nothing like the theater experience at home for watching epic classics. Also helps with the closed caption on the Anime. Never been big on seeing movies in the theater. Not sure why, but I prefer crashing out with friends to watch a good movie.
  • Television

Educational TV is about all I watch. Not much else. I really don't have time for TV anymore so it's a mote point.
  • Books

I used to read a lot. Life has crowded out that hobby. Sci-fi is high on my list of reading, but only the masters. Not into pulp fiction or anything else that is just a story that has no reason. Since I don't have the time for books this even more of a mote point than TV (no effort in watching TV so it can be done while falling asleep).
  • Heroes

Myself in a past life. To find out why, get to know me.

About me:

*** No More WEBCAM Girls! *** If you are only looking to add to your customer base, leave me off your friends list.

Let's see, I'm a musician, computer geek, photographer, Rennie, and generally a really nice guy. That's the one liner. Perhaps something a bit more descriptive?

As a land loving rouge, I frequent the Michigan Renaissance Festival, Mayfaire, Silverleaf, and what other renaissance faire I can afford to make it too. Looking to do more out of state faires in the near future. MiRF is my home faire and I peddle huge half gallon hip flasks at Christian Michael Arms as a guest artist. Hopefully they will continue to allow me to guest at their booth for years to come. Although I have been wandering the faire more as of late, you will often find me at the Guinness pub with the other rowdy sort. Look me up if you make it to the faire. Oh, and being an Ordained Wizard, you may find me dressed in more mythical garb from time to time.

I have a percussion background from way back, but mostly do Celtic and folk hand percussion now. I used to have an acoustic open jam music party that eventually spawned my music company, Music In The Yard, and a power vocal group, Big Green X, which I was percussion and low harmonies. Sadly the fun of running such an event has fizzled out for me. Maybe some day in the future I'll bring Music In The Yard, the open jam, back, but for now I just don't have the energy. For now I am sticking with Irish Session's and what ever music projects I can pick up along the way.

On the computer front, I did a stint of 12 years consulting for Compuware until I was on the wrong side of a balance sheet in 2002 (hope I never meet on the street the salesman who was not recording my project hours toward the contract). Since then the Detroit economy has made getting back into the business very difficult. I am finally giving up on Corporate America all together and doing the independent thing with WEB sites and what ever I can pick up. I've been the WEB support person for DJS Pro Audio and Lighting (aka DJSupply.com) for a few years now and hopefully I can stick with music related clients!

I mentioned photography. I did cable TV production in the 80's for pay and apply my experience there in my photography. We were pretty hot back then burying the cable companies best efforts and matching the networks in all but picture quality (the cameras couldn't do it). Bringing over an understanding of lighting and framing helps me when shooting and I tend to have better than the usual 10-15% usable shots of traditional film photography. I still shoot as if I am only keeping that many because it is the right way to do it, but I get lucky because my TV background forces me to consider framing and perspective as live instead of something to fix in the dark room. Most people really like my work, but most of it has been with a relatively low end consumer digital camera. I just moved up to a digital SLR, and still need to add lenses to my inventory. Keep your eyes open for more professional shooting in my photos section. As of late I have been doing a lot of photos in fetish clubs and video with Draconian Production. We'll see where that takes me. Should be fun.

My TOP what ever is not a top friends list anymore. I have too many good friends to say who is at the top of the list. So, the top X (I have no idea what count I'll keep it at) will be for my convenience or who I want to promote (ie. Draconian Productions).

Party on!

Who I'd like to meet:

Well, I used to say a lot here, but I think I'll let you decide who I want to meet. I'm up to meet just about anyone, but to call them friend I need to feel that they are willing to be that friend. If you don't know what that means then you likely don't fit the definition. Sorry, but. so many see life as a popularity contest or what can I get for me thing that I'm just not willing to deal with such people. Too many of them and too little personal time to spend it on someone who won't spend time on me.

My main interests in people to meet are bands from the area, people I know but haven't had time to get to really know, really cool people, and people from my past that I lost touch with. Others are welcome, but be warned that I won't be that social if you won't be back. Please have a real photo of you in your profile. I want to know who it is I am corresponding with. These silly graphic are fine for show, but where's the tell in them? I will decline you if you do not have a real photo.

And BANDS, if I don't already know you you must be local to the Detroit Area. I know a lot of musicians, singers, songwriters, and others in the music industry and would love to stay in contact with them. Non local bands are not likely to get on my friends list. I know too many locals that I don't keep up with like I want too. No time for someone I'll likely never see.

I'm heavy into the goth and alt scene at the moment. Both photography, video and personally. Would love to meet some locals from these scenes to hang out with and maybe more. All good people from my experience and we all need good people in our lives.

Other Rennies. Specially if there is an opportunity to travel to far flung faires.

Look.. I Twitter now!

    Welcome to Belly Dance Events,

Thanks for the add Charles! Please let me know if you have any upcoming belly dance, drum or fire performance related events in or near Michigan. It doesn’t matter if you are running the event yourself or you just heard about it from somewhere. I will need either a web site address with information about the event or a phone number/email address so I can confirm the event before I list it.

I hope you find this profile page helpful in planning your calendar.

Then a skirt and top for me??? cuz I am cute.. and I'd let you take pictures of me in it... once i am back to my normal weight... after the kid pops out...
  • May 4 2009 8:50 AM

Did you have a good time? Man, everytime someone mentions Necto, I wish I had the time open on Sundays. Not only does it sound like a blast, but there are people who go on Sundays that I haven't seen in a while and some people I've met virtually that I'd like to meet in person. Hmmmm, I'll have to work something out one of these Sundays. :-)
