having stared their own night 'east electric psychedelic' and playing shows that have devestated and elated audiences, japanese four piece, bo ningen, release their debut ep 'koroshitai kimochi' on 10 inch vinyl on stolen recordings. limited to 200, everyone is hand done by the band. if someone in the 1960's had imagined ('space: 1999' style) what rock and roll would sound like in 2009, bo ningen is what they would have heard in their head. in its obbession with repetition and the twisted patterns of its ungraspable musical narrative, the 10" has all the appeal of listening to amon duul, can and melt-banana but at the same time. -ROUGH TRADE
"They're fantastically energetic, often brain-crushingly heavy, and quite probably the most exciting young band in London right now. The foursomes feral punk/metal approach and hectic tempo changes nod to Jap freak-out combos such as Acid Mothers Temple, Melt-Banana, Boredoms and Boris."

Live review 27/ 05 / 09 at "Far East Electric Psychedelic" at the Cross Kings
If someone in the 1960's had imagined ("Space: 1999" style) what rock and roll would sound like in 2009, Bo Ningen is what they would have heard in their head.....(check the rest of the article in a hard copy of the magazine, which you can pick up from shops such as Rough Trade and all good venues.)
-----Loud and Quiet
"Bo Ningen's EP is a loud, glorious serving of Japanese progressive-punk that threatens to blow your head off with its raging twists and sweeping turns. It's like having your brain massaged from the inside - it makes your nerves stand on end but also soothingly fucked up

A tough one to describe this; the four skinny Japanese guys combined big hair, big guitars, catchy riffs, socklessness, a pinch of insanity and some fine songs to create a simply mesmerising set that has the attention of everyone in the theatre.
The emotion of the tracks is portrayed brilliantly by the group, led by a sockless young gent who looks like he could possibly snap in two at any moment. A great set of emotional and dynamicrock snowballs to an explosive conclusion, think jumping, climbing, teeth supported guitar antics and a huge boom of noise.
-----Panic: Issue 33
"...one of the storming triumphs of the festival - Japanese noise-rockers Bo Ningen. With curtains of hair swinging, they bit their guitars, climbed the tent mast and produced a sound somewhere between wolves and Nintendos....Best discovery: A tie between Bo Ningen and Wetdog.
----The Observer (Festival Watch, Offset 2009)---
"This 10in vinyl debut album a new Japanese quartet playing jazzed-up acid punk was an unexpectedly essential artefact."
----The Sunday Times (Top 100 Albums of 2009)---
"Bo Ningen's music has elements which appear to be all over the place, the difference being that they somehow manage to figure them all out. This is still baffling, slightly upsetting music, but then that's what people said about Krautrock when it first emerged. this sounds like nothing less than another paradigm shift in music."

"Psychedelic" is to stand quietly/loudly in the middle of interzone and stare at both sides at once.
