What qualifies as 'rock and roll' anymore?
Somewhere in the middle of all the genre mash-ups still survives riff-laden, radio-ready, smart rock and roll. Boone are spoon feeding it to you hook by tasty hook. It's not that they sound similar to bands like Foo Fighters, Superchunk, and Weezer, but they occupy that same space on your dial. Rhythmic, driving, dynamic observations of ordinary events through the slightly twisted eyes of the not-so-casual observer. Soundtrack music for folks trapped in that high anxiety moment just before choosing 'fight' or 'flight'.
Rock and roll.

Massachusetts rockers Boone are on the verge of some very good things. Boone sounds like a poppier version of the Meat Puppets with a touch of Bob mould tossed in. The band plays catchy, cool sounding tunes that are never obnoxious or egotistical.Overall, though Boone is a nifty band with a breezy approach. Thanks to supreme intelligence, the guys also root for the Red Sox. Combine all those factors and you've got a formula for success.
