BIOGRAFIA

Boris è un vocal performer dotato di una folgorante personalità. Affascinato da sempre dello “strumento voce” e delle sue straordinarie possibilità, con un background prima di studi classici e successivamente, grazie all’amicizia col suo mentore Mark Murphy, di matrice jazz (senza dimenticare le origine come rock singer) è continuamente alla ricerca di nuove forme espressive-vocali.
Negli ultimi anni fissa alcune tappe importanti per la sua carriera contribuendo al progetto di avant-jazz sperimentale e dissacrante della meta-jazz band SADO, e pubblicando la sua opera più rappresentativa, il cd per sola voce e looper dal titolo ”INSANOLOGY” (che vede il prezioso contributo, in due brani, di Marc Ribot).
Il disco ottiene lusinghiere recensioni in tutto il mondo (Italia, USA, Brasile, Francia, Inghilterra, Olanda, Russia, Germania, Israele) ed alcune importanti conferme come nell'annuale Jazz Poll del produttore e critico Arnaldo DeSouteiro (produttore di Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin e Joao Gilberto) che segnala Insanology tra i 10 migliori album di jazz vocale del 2008 e Boris al terzo posto nella categoria Migliori Cantanti Jazz dopo nomi storici come Tony Bennet e Al Jarreau.
Numerose le prestigiose esibizioni live, come quella del settembre 2008 allo storico  “The Stone” di New York (il cui direttore artistico è John Zorn), in compagnia del chitarrista-compositore Elliott Sharp e il Vocal Solo Tour in Russia ed Ucraina nel mese di marzo-aprile 2009 (MuzEnergo Festival di Mosca e DoDj Festival di Kiev) 
Per giugno 2009 è attesa la  pubblicazione di “PROTOPLASMIC”, il disco registrato a NY in duo con Elliott Sharp e pubblicato dalla Newyorkese Moonjune.

BIOGRAPHY

Boris is a great vocal perfomer with a brilliant personality.
He’s always been in love with his “vocal instrument” and its extraordinary possibilities. Boris loves to find different original ways of singing, due to his very different backgrounds, from classical studies untill jazz singing (thanx to his mentor Mark Murphy), passing from rock-funk to avantgarde experimental approach.

In these last few years he starts a collaboration with the Decostructing Metajazz Band “SADO” and released the album “Holzwege “(2008 - AMS/BTF) but the most representative Boris’ work is the album titled “INSANOLOGY”, an experimental vocal solo project, composed, arranged and recorded using only a looper machine and no musical instrument (except for two tracks played by Marc Ribot on guitars).

INSANOLOGY obtains lotsa flattering reviews all around the world (Italy, USA, Brazil, France, UK, Holland, Russia, Germany, Israel)
In december 2008, in his “Jazz Poll 2008”, the producer-critic Arnaldo DeSouteiro (producer of Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin and Joao Gilberto) put “Insanology” between the 10 best vocal jazz musical album of the year and place Boris himself in the category of “Better Jazz male singers” in the third position, after Tony Bennet and Al Jarreau.

Boris did lots of gigs in many different places, one of the most important in september 2008, with Elliott Sharp as a special guest, at “The Stone” (Jonh Zorn is the artistic director of this venue) the temple of avant music in New YorK. The “Insanology vocal solo” tour, after the USA and Italy, continues in Russia and Ukraine (MuzEnergo Festival and DoDj Interrnational Jazz Festival) in march-april 2009.

In june 2009 the New York Label Moonjune will release his new duo cd with Elliott Sharp titled “Protoplasmic”.
