BIOGRAPHY
As a high profile DJ, Boris Roodbwoy is currently one of the most in-demand and instantly recognizable in Ukraine. From the climb-the-walls success of his ‘Limelight’ nights in Odessa, to different events at the best Ukrainian clubs and international bookings
His prolific DJing schedule has seen him crisscrossing Ukraine and other countries (Russia, Turkey, Switzerland and more) playing up to a whopping several gigs a week, along the way scooping up musical experience & mixing skills.
He has also become a familiar radio and television personality through his appearances on radio stations (Kiss FM, Star FM, Avto FM /Ukraine/, Powerjam FM /UK/, Sound Republic /South Africa/, We Love House FM /Germany/…), TV channels (M1, Glas, Plus, A1, Inter, Star TV, Noviy Kanal…) and his dance radio show ‘Prosto Dance Club’ on the number one hit music station in Ukraine Prosto Radi.O which followed him to the best parties. Twice a week Boris Roodbwoy plays the finest house music, runs Ukrainian dance/house chart and interviews big names from all over the world. In his guest mix section he aired exclusive DJ mixes by Bob Sinclar, Laurent Wolf, Fedde Le Grand, Freemasons, Michael Gray, Milk&Sugar, Eddie Thoneick, Syke’n’Sugarstarr, D.O.N.S, Peter Presta, Ian Carey, Wawa, StoneBridge, Axwell and many more.
Raised in Odessa (Ukraine), Boris was weaned on a musical influence of early break beats, hip hop, jungle, techno, trance, house. Such extraordinary taste in music became a background for his musical development. He started DJing about 10 years ago, and after securing himself DJ sets at several local gigs decided to arrange his own nights & making his own radio show. After the success of his ‘Limelight’ nights Boris started Limelight Promotions. Nowadays Limelight Promotions is well known as a professional promo organization & booking agency in all the country. Using all his experience Boris works as an event-manager of one of the best summer clubs in Ukraine “Martinika Beach Club”. Boris Roodbwoy started making his own music in 2007. His closer cooperation with German duo Doc Phatt influenced on his sound. Boris Roodbwoy became the 1st among all house producers of former USSR (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia etc) who's remixes had been released on one of the worldwide most famous house labels – Milk & Sugar Recordings! Additionally he worked on remixes for further renowned imprints such as Egoiste Recordings (Houseworks), Diamondhouse Records, Klubbstyle Records and Pacha Recordings. Now his tracks got support from top DJs all over the world such as Milk&Sugar, Doc Phatt, Yves Murasca, Chris Montana, 2 Elements, Micha Moor, Inusa Dawuda, Chriss Ortega, 2-4 Grooves /Germany/, Splashfunk, The House Keepers /Italy/, Wawa, Mikro ‘Housebrothers’ /Poland/, Josh The Funky 1 /USA/, Jaybee, Mad Mark /Switzerland/, Wez Clarke (Hed Kandi) /UK/ and many others. Every year Boris Roodbwoy releases mixed CD compilations on biggest Ukrainian major label Odyssey Records. Brilliant selection, cool style of mixing and absolutely positive vibe made Boris Roodbwoy so beloved by the massive.
Boris has his own heading “Clubs with Boris Roodbwoy” in one of the most popular journals in Ukraine “Afisha” fortnightly. Also, he works as a musical editor of the adult contemporary music station Radio Feel.
Now, Boris Roodbwoy and Limelight Promotions are preparing something new, special and unforgettable and looking forward for the new perspectives to develop Ukrainian movement.
