Bowerbirds is: Phil Moore (guitar, lead vocals) and Beth Tacular (accordion, keys, vocals), and Dan "Yan" Westerlund (drums, keys, vocals). We are touring also this winter with Will Hackney (mandolin, vocals).
Past members or touring musicians include: Mark Paulson (violin, foot synth, percussion, vocals), who toured with us for years, as well as Abbie Bowman, Matt Damron, Mickey D'Loughy, Brad & Phil Cook (Megafaun), John DeHaven, Wes Phillips, Tim Phillips, and Will Anderson, who each played with us on a few shows.
On the recordings, the only performers are Phil, Beth and Mark; except Brad Cook and Wes Phillips, who played upright bass on a few songs, and Phil Cook, who played banjo on "The Ticonderoga". Phil Moore plays drums on all of Upper Air.
Also, we apologize that we have not been able to keep up with myspace messages, because we don't have fast internet at the Airstream, and myspace takes forever to load there. If you would like to get in touch with us, please go to bowerbirds.org and follow the email link.
The male crestless bowerbird is completely drab. His plumage is indistinguishable from the female's. His bower has therefore grown more elaborate to take the place of colorful feathers. He gathers insect skeletons, shells, seeds and charcoal, and arranges them in neat piles in his bower. While bobbing about to attract the female, he holds a colorful object, usually a flower, in his bill.
Beth & Phil, I just received notice of your new video and viewed it. It is Fantastic!!! Keep up the great work you all are doing through your music and loving souls. We look forward to seeing you again up here in New England. Smiles to your day....Tom and his daughter Elizabeth and her boyfriend Travis.
Good evening enchanting & delightful souls, please come back to England and sing for us. I saw you when you played in Manchester late last year and it was such a magical evening, your music makes me so happy, not just the beautiful songs themselves but the way you perform them, with such heart and humility, you are inspiring and good and that's the truth, much love, Jacob x
