David - www.davidnewberry.ca
David Newberry sings folk songs with rock sensibilities. Or is it the other way around? His simple songs capture insights into the complex contemporary social world.
"David's music is delivered with passion and intensity such as I have rarely experienced. Each song is like a masterpiece of concise writing, not one wasted word or thought. Each drives home the fact that I am listening to exquisite insights into the human condition. A brilliant blend of heart and mind that is all but missing in most of his contemporaries writing today. He is a brilliant poet and compelling performer. I will be in the audience again as often as I can. I think he is an outstanding writer. Simply outstanding."
Three time Juno Award winner David Francey
Keep an eye out for David's debut solo full length, nearing completion, to be released this winter on Northern Electric Records. Produced by Jon Wood (Rodney Decroo, Harold Nix, Cam Penner).
His sibling-rivalry-duets record is available on itunes and CD Baby.
David...just caught your "trainwreck" on youtube. Blew my Revelstoke afternoon clear over the rockies. That is a real jem, for the ages...FOR THE AGES.
Yo Dave! So, you told me that you're in touch with Jeff Burton, but what about the other member of 3/4 talent, Mr. Dan Czer..cerwi...Dan? I haven't seen the lad in many many years. If we all lived in the same province, and reunion show would be very cool!
Dave, how does December 29th/saturday work for you at 1-2pm to come up to CJSF and play on-air? Three songs at the start, then a short 10-15min interiew near the end. Nick
Hi, David thanks for the add. Been playing your cd often over at CJSF. Tyler(Artwells) said you're in Vancouver right now. I was hoping that you would be able to eventually pop by CJSF and do a few sets live on air. No rush..whenever you have time...+ I'm trying to get back to my evening slot. Keep in touch. Nick
Hey dude,
We were driving down the road the other day, on our way to Quesnel , listening to your recordings, and we all sighed a little, smiled and said "awhh newberry".
