Can't be bothered with life's silly games of materialism, power, greed and competitiveness. It divides, rather then unites people.customising clothes, knicking samples for my own choons, voluntary work. The biggest influence in my life was the Punk movement in the 70's & inparticular Adam & the ants who i used to travel round the country watching.Punk gave people the confidence to be anything they wanted .It was classless, genderless,it was a bout the individual ,but not in a selfish way.It was a diverse sub culture full of diverse individuals.Punk ended for me when the the OI! movement started.that was a celabration of the worst aspects of being working class,it wanted people to remain trapped in the working class culture not help people escape class. It became everything punk was against. It was not about the individual .punk became a uniform with mohawks tartan bondage pants ,leather jackets & docs.all the bands sounded the same 90 miles an hour thrash,.everybody had the same mantra it was mind numbigly boring. Punk according to the Sun newspaper. That appears to still be the case to day? Iam working class myself & proud of a lot of the traditions of being working class.but that doesn't mean you can't improve your life & it also proved that we could just as creative given the chance & add to the rich tapestry of english culture instead of just being the dogs bodies& slacves of the mmasters.Oi rejected this with it's inverted snobbery The history of punk jumps from the pistols & the Clash to the Exploited, & the Cockney rejects etc. all the creativity of the different bands in between that have been forgotten. Punk was a state of mind not a fashion, it had attitude, it was a way of life 24/7. It's turned from a positive image to a negative one when people thought it was punk to became a useless junkie like Vicious being violent instead of being able to communicate . basically punk became dumbed down, for thicko's & losers & how the media had potrayed punks from the beginning.
Music ..>check the slide show.THE MOST DEFINING MOMEMENT IN MY LIFE! THESE GIGS HAD THE MOST PROFOUND EFFECT ON MY LIFE. ALONG WITH SEEING THE ANTS IN 78. SEX PISTOLS GIG.25TH DEC 1977 HUDDERSFIELD. iI lived and knocked about in london in the late 70's early 80's One of the main reasons for going there was talking to John Lydon at sex pistols gig at Huddersfield on xmas day 1977.It sounded so interesting and exciting. Me and my mate Chris walked to huddersfield for the sex pistols gig.it only took us 3 hours. We saw them in keighley 2 days earlier at the knickers club, but it was hard to even see the band as the stage was half way up the wall facing the balcony, weird venue.but the feeling of seeing the band was the same as when i first went to see the MIGHTY! leeds united. But was spiolt a bit because i was so excited at bieng there i got completly bananared ,so every thing was a bit hazy the next day. hardly anyone went to huddersfield because few people we knew had a car. when we got there the gig had sold out. but we hung around, mainly because we were knackered from walking there ,and coudn't face walking back again. There were about 20 punks outside.after an hour the promoter came outside and said we can pay in on the door. When we got in the club was rammed.it was that full we coudn't get near the bar.in fact we coudn't move at all. when the pistols came on great view! Lydon says here's your xmas national anthem, straight into god save the queen. We soon realised that there were far to many people in the venue, which looked as though it could hold about 400 at a push.Don't know how many there was actually in there but it was extremlyuncomfortable. Me and my mate ad to take turns at giveing each other a piggy back so we could see anything. When the gig finished every body just left.We were that knackered by this point we coudn't move. Then all of a sudden Lydon came up to my mate and taped a fag of him. He was wearing a plastic desert hat.and an old suit jacket. we were a bit nervous ,but asked him what he thought of the Keighley gig? he said" the crowd were good but it was a strange venue,as we could hardly see the crowd ,because of the stage" We then asked him about the punk scene in London, i had already been there and visited seditionaries in Oct 1st ,when leeds beat Chelsea 2.1 at the bridge, He was a really down to earth guy. We talked to him for about half an hour. He gave us a holidays in the sun poster each and a flyer then said catch you in London some time. quality bloke! outside though was a bit hairy .the drongo town fans were on the prowl ,looking to batter some poor little punks, about thier limit! luckily! we saw a couple of guys from wyke in Bradford, who were getting picked up by there dad. so we hung around with them and got a lift back to Bradford. What a night! and ,for once iam glad we coudn't get to the bar, otherwise it might have ended up like a blur again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Living is a cliche its all been done before, death is the only thing we've got left to live for"
MoviesThunder rock, murder in the first, dead peots society ,name of the rose, clockwork orange, triumph of the will, marx brothers, misissippi burning, filth and the fury,Micheal Collins.Bad boy Bubby, punk in London,Holocaust, the Punk Rock movie,Riot on Sunset Strip.Psych Out,jaws,Odessa file, christianne f.Shawshank Redemption,Dance with a stranger old b/w films.better scripts and actors.prefer films which take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions rather then movies with plenty of action and effects and little substance
TelevisionRising damp, black books, dear john,2000 acres of sky, spooks, who do you think you are.leauge of gentlemen, still game, underground music docs /gigs,documentaries,gritty social dramas, especially with a psychological edge to them, or were people overcome adversity.who dunnits, our friends in the north whoe's line is it anyway, wire in the blood, have i got news for you
Booksfactual books.football, histoty, biographyies, true crime. Don't bother with news papers. They are all politically motivated,or the news ,to depressing
Heroesno more heroes any more!real heroes are people who are willing to sacrafice themselves for the wellbeing others before themselves.like roal wallenberg, martin luther king, gandi, oscar shindler, nelson mandela.and skippy People who have had an impact on my life. Don Revie and Leeds United Stuart goddard. Viv and Malcs clothes .sex and seditionaries Friends and Enemies Family and Girlfriends John Lydon. Just glad i learned all about false prophets and the falability of mankind before Alan Smith upset all those people who believed in him and joined the enemy.it still hurt though!JUDAS! Just watched a programme called This World about modern day heroes.Dr Ali and his staff in bagdad hospital. What tremendous courage and humanity in dealing with the everyday chaos and carnage of Irag.Maybe if everybody got out of there who isn't iragi they might find peace ? they certianly deserve it Also i would include Abdul Haq an afhganistani who told the americans he could sort his own country out, without the need to invade them but the americans keep believing other unreliable sources instead. He was killed by ?

Hahaha, I don't believe we have moors over here. Mind you, I have yet to make it to Dartmoor one day!

You be able to sort out where to sleep? That would be great if possible; what do you have in mind?
Well I do have my ticket booked for the 17th, early morning! Flight back is in the afternoon on the 21st.

Cheers!

Hey I'm not touring...Sorry I'm taking a while - I'm the main writer
for a metal webzine over here, and gosh, that's been taking my
resources!

I've transcribed and translated quite a few interviews, you might like this guy...

"I quite recently decided to dedicate my life to music. Different
people have different needs and aspirations, and I'm much more strongly
linked to the music, than some idea of a family and an established
life. This is the reason why I give such a big part of myself to music,
including my health.

I think that our entire evolution is coming from our own
very sincere passion for music – we’re not here to be entertainers first and
foremost; we are here to be artists, and because we have a passion for music
and particularly in our genre and in our band - we dedicate our entire lives to
that."

Hahaha, so you enjoyed your 1'30" of fame, huh!!:))

I have booked all my plane tickets - trouble is, I don't have hotel
money as of now, and we'll have to see about that. See, I'm also going
to Germany in December. Gosh...

For now, I'm off to my hometown tomorrow to partake in a Master's
program, this semester including: Practical English, Etiquette, Speech
Technique, Natural and Tourist resources of Bulgaria, and Cultural
Heritage of Bulgaria - in order to make a better guide for you once
you're here.:))

Love ya,

D

spot on mate, unfortunately it looks like the developers will eventually get their way and have it demolished.theyve tried in the past but now what with the studio no longer being there(although the entrance to 'the tube' is still there for now)
posh apartments or offices are likely.you might remember a pub straight across from it,well that went years ago.they used have loads of pictures of celebs on the walls, its amazing how many people have actually graced that studio.
