Brain Ghetto started with work in 1996 in Prilep, Macedonia. Prilep is this small city and to do something like this in it is pretty hard. Fuck it, I don’t want to complain now, but I think this had influenced our songs the most. We started practicing and organize gigs, and released our first demo “Live & Sober”, 1998, which was “illegal”, but people listened to it. We did quite a lot gigs through Macedonia after that. In 2002 we released this split CD(-R) with Disgruntled from Malesia. This release went quite well, although we didn’t put so much effort in it’s presentation and distribution, and not that it matters! We did get good reviews in some foreign and domestic fanzines.
We never looked for some serious labels, and we’re not planning to look for them in the future too, because for us the music industry is destroying the honesty and rebelion of the punk-rock and turns everything in money. And yes! This also: we’re not planning EVER to become professional band, because that will be the easiest way to destroy everything that we like about Brain Ghetto!!! Our way is and will remain D.I.Y.

"In February 1998, grassroots movements of all continents met in Geneva to launch a worldwide coordination network of resistance to the global market, a new alliance of struggle and solidarity called "Peoples' Global Action against 'free' trade and the WTO", (PGA). That was the birth of this global tool for communication and coordination for all those who fight the destruction of humanity and the planet by capitalism and build local alternatives to globalisation. PGA is not an organisation and has no members. However PGA aims to be an organised network. Participation in PGA activities is based upon endorsement of the hallmarks and principles of the network. Autonomous groups function as regional contact points to disseminate information about PGA, but they cannot represent the PGA.

* A very clear rejection of capitalism, imperialism and feudalism; all trade agreements, institutions and governments that promote destructive globalisation;

We are Mladina Kina, writing about the situation with our »rehearsal« place(old abandon cinema), where diy hc-bands practise and where we organise diy hc punk shows. We also have an indoor skatepark here, an infoshop and we are building a diy recording sudio, but beacuse of the situation we are not able to finish it. The problem is that local authorities kicked us out, but we refused to go and so we locked ourselves in. The main argument of the town authorities is, that the place is not appropriate for band practises, which is a lie and doesn't make any sense since we don't just practise here. We explain them our activities many times before, but they always ignored us. We are going to fight till the end and show them that we mean it with protest and protesting concert. We could use and appreciate every help and if you are willing to help and support this alternative place, you can writte a support letter for keeping KINO! Thank you for help! Stay punk!
