Blunk Street Music is pleased to announce the debut EP by Detroit artist, Brandon Calhoon. The 5 song EP, “Detroit City” represents Brandon's rock/soul songwriting skills, partnered with the Blunk Brothers - Chris Plum & Jeff Hupp (Brendan Benson, The Atomic Numbers) engineering and producing 'Neo-Motown' sound. The EP was mixed by Zach Shipps (the Electric Six, Brendan Benson) and Mastered by Tom Baker (Buckcherry, Velvet Revolver, Modest Mouse).
A Michigan native, Brandon moved to California in July of 2004, on a whim to pursue a lifelong dream. Calhoon’s debut CD is the culmination of themes from Brandon’s road back to Detroit after being a finalist on the Rockstar: INXS reality show. The 5 songs represent his various musical influences: From the gritty rock inspired “Detroit City”, to the Kravitz-like blend of Motown Soul of “Golden Boy”, Brandon crosses many genres, creating contagious sing-along choruses that tie it all together.
