Louis Aimé Augustin Le Prince - the first person to record moving images on film, several years before Edison and Lumière. He disappeared from a train in Paris on his way to exhibit his work in the United States, and neither his body nor his luggage were ever seen again.

its so crazy. not a single one of my friends has heard of this band. this band is super amazing. i am going to keep it on my profile and keep showing more and more friends the amazing music you make. youre amazing
Yeah, no problem. It's fun reading about life on the road and your blog does it well. Also, they're nicely written (a lot of band blogs are not...) and I've been enjoying them for a couple of weeks now. It's pretty good stuff.
I'm ashamed to say that I've never really listened to you guys, but for some reason, we're MySpace friends. However, I'm going to start listening to you because the 500 Days of Night blog is easily one of the most intriguing and compelling collections of writing to grace the internet. I've really enjoyed reading those which is weird because, like I said, I've never really listened to you. So, thanks for that.
Brazil, it's great to hear your music, these songs are making a fan of me already. I work with an online music review community, Music Emissions (www.musicemissions.com) and, if you guys could use the press, I'd love to cover your new EP or any older releases for the ME readers. If you've got any promos lying around, just let me know and I can guarantee quality reviews. Thanks either way!
wanted to say: its been around two years since I heard Philosophy of Velocity and three since I heard the opening piano on "Escape" one saturday morning in my boxershorts surfing purevolume.com and was just blown away. you guys are an amazing amazing band, and most of all, you're real people, you interact with your fans and all those things are so incredible.

What do you, as a collective group, eat for breakfast?
Is it something that is packed with the vitamins and minerals necessary for a successful day?
Is it some common, every-day cold cereal? Or is something more like a pancake or a waffle? Perhaps you opt for the more unhealthy choice of bacon and eggs? Or maybe grits. Just grits. All the time.
So yes, what is the breakfast of choice? And if I eat it, will I discover the bowtie I never knew I had?
Oh man, I've been hoping some day soon you would announce a tour with Dredg, the Dear Hunter, Facing New York, and Pelican. Hahaha But I understand not wanting to leave the kids. And the gas situation especially sucks; Most of the time promoters never pay you what you agreed on. Still sad I won't be seeing you again though ! Haha.
Where would it have been on the album? Going by the title I would assume at the end, although that would kind of contradict the ending Strange Days gives, furthering it's conflict with the rest of the album.
i can't remember if you did or not, but I could care less. That mock up looks good! I still never got you the high res photos of that show or the other thing we did. Do you have any server space I could FTP or anything?

In April 2004, I remember browsing the internet (that's all I basically did/do) and stumbling across a video called "Escape" by the band Brazil. I LOVED it. I replayed the video a second time, mesmerized by the melody of the vocals with piano and guitar. I quickly called my friend, telling him about this amazing band. A year later, walking into the venue, who do my friend and I meet at the merch table? None other than Mr. Jonathon Newby. We talked about the band name (thanks for telling us to watch the movie, great stuff), music, touring, ect. I quickly purchased the Dasein EP, a sticker and pin and proceeded to the main floor as Brazil took to the stage to "rock out with my..." well, you get the drift. I know you don't remember me, but I'd just like to let you know that Brazil's music really helped me out in a tough time in my life, it just really helped me do as the song said. Escape. Thank you for making music, please don't ever stop.
Sincerely, Kyle J. McCarthy
P.S. Sadly, I never got to see Brazil live again. Maybe one more tour is in order?
