Jamiroquai groovin' with Stevie Wonder while the Red Hot Chili Peppers cool down with blue-eyed soul from the mid-'70s
Break As We Fall is a Rock/Funk/Pop group formed in Corvallis, OR and currently based out of Portland, OR. Originally the solo project of founder Evan Churchill while a member of Corvallis local favorite Sweater Club, the lineup has settled on the core of Evan Churchill, Dan Grossen, Alex Moffat, Steve Hammond and Alia Beyer.
In the past year and a half Break As We Fall has opened for SoCal rockers Eve 6, been selected out 80 Portland bands for a spot in the KNRK Streets of Tanasbourne summer concert series and toured 4 states.
On May 7th, 2009, the band released their second record "If You're Lonely", 11 new songs mixed and mastered by Co-Op Studios in Nashville, TN. The album has been well-received by fans and critics alike, and is now available on iTunes.
PRESS
“If You’re Lonely” is a very good independent release from a young band that shows promise. - Register Guard
"Break As We Fall is deftly able to defy being stuffed into a dance/funk mold, even as their songs beg for funky dancing. It’s a style that’s deeply rooted but also totally their own." - Eugene Weekly
"The international sensibility of Sting. A young Stevie Wonder’s soul. A tremulous David Cassidy vibrato. The energy of Jay Kay. The elemental sickness of Break As We Fall vocalist Evan Churchill is an arresting concoction. The Portland groovetet play confident blue-eyed, DIY rock’n’soul, and make you dance while they do it." - Reno Tahoe Tonight

Hey Evan, well we've been playing acoustic shows at Fireworks lately, and have been hoping to expand our venue experience. Are there any venues that you know, or are friends with that we could do a show at? I'm willing to do whatever we need to do. I used to be in a band, but never got familiar with the acoustic venues. Just oddfellows, etc. And speaking of shows at fireworks, we have a show on saturday from 7-9pm. Its our first solo show, and longest show we've done. Hope any of you guys can make it!
I'll most likely be at your show next Thursday =) It would be great to meet you guys. Keep up what your doing. And keep in touch if you have any ideas! It would be an honor to open up for an amazing group like you.
We Should do an acoustic show together! I absolutely love to watch you guys...I haven't been able to come to many of your 21+ shows, but saw you recently at Fall festival, and was amazed as always =) you get better and better! let us know if you are interested!

Hey there, yeah LBS was a fun event. We are actually taking a little break from shows to write and record some new material. We're also moving up to the Portland area, so we're excited. We will definitely try and make your show at the cozmic! and set some shows up in the future!
oh, I am so mad. I missed your concert again!!! I couldn't get ANYONE to come out with me tonight. And I hate venturing out alone. So I was stuck at home all evening. Sorry!! Hope it went well though. Have a great weekend!
