Influences
I have been influenced by many of the artists that follow, but I am mostly influenced by everyday life and philosophies of why we are here, success and failure, ambition and drive, lost love and heartache, world killer's, the up's and down's of the financial securties business and life and a deep desire to write music that moves me. I write what I feel and feel what I write.
Collective Soul, Tom Petty, Emerson Hart(Tonic), Jeff Buckley, Shawn Mullins, K.T. Tunstall, Edwin Mccain, James Blunt, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Mat Kearney, Guster, Semisonic, Martin Sexton, Damien Rice, Rob Thomas, Vertical Horizon, Howie Day, David Gray, Toby Lightman, Gavin Degraw, Blue October, Jimmie Eat World, Spout, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, and and local artists Johnny Clueless and Tim Mahoney as well as some of the great songwriters like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra

The Brian David Band was born from over 22 years of filling yellow paged notebooks with thoughts, feelings, opinions and ideas. Songwriting has always been a strong passion and has helped me get thru the Ups and Downs of a 12 year career in the Financial Services Industry as well as the good and the bad relationships throughout my life.
My official music career started in April of 2006, after parting ways with a local rock band called Murge after almost 3 years, although in my mind a solo career began more than 20 years ago when I wrote my first song called “That Day” about the day my father came back from the doctors office to tell that my mother may not live to see me graduate form High School. I fell in love with songwriting at that very moment. I have always strived to put a level of emotion and intensity in every song I write.
We have been influenced by everything from 80's Rock bands like Kiss and Motley Crue to country artists like Sawyer Brown to modern alternative rock bands like Staind and Collective Soul as well as artists like Dave Mathews, Howie Day, Jack Johnson and David Gray, One Republic and Rob Thomas.
Our Debut Solo EP “Up Down Sideways” which came out on September 23rd, 2006 has
already gotten rave reviews and huge interest amongst over 14,000 friends on myspace
as well as local press and our follow up CD “Supposed To Do” was just released in October 2007.
Our sound is easily described as Acoustic Stomp Pop/Rock. The canvas behind it all is former drummer from Murge, Sean Woodward (S.W. Stomp) who brings a unique range of beats and special percussion to create a Stompy Acoustic Signature sound backed by a passionate lyrical baritone singing voice of Brian David.
Brian David has been part of the St. Paul and Minneapolis music scene for 8 years. Fronting the local bands Syndicate Avenue and the alternative rock band Murge before forming his own band the Brian David Band which quickly created a signature Acoustic Stomp Rock sound backed by former drummer of Murge, The S.W.Stomp, Sean Woodward. Brian has been writing since he was 15 and puts an strives to put an overwhelming amount of passion in every song he writes and sings. He has written over 1000 songs over the years and has recorded 1 Full Length Album and 1 EP's since 2007 and is currently working on his 3rd Full Length album with the band called "There From Here" due out in the Fall of 2009. The current line up is a full band with Sean Woodward on drums, Eric Hansen on Electric Guitar, Tim Krueger on Bass and we just added Ben Hail on Keys and we are currently working on our 3rd Album titled "There From Here" due out in the winter of 2009.
