You're listening to the new LP by Briztronix entitled "Structures of Canyons."
It's the third Briztronix release since the duo's debut EP dropped in 2002.
Hailing from Brisbane but newly established in Melbourne, Briztronix have been pushing the boundaries of Australian down-tempo hip-hop and breaks since 2002.Their debut EP got them constant airplay on triple j's Hip Hop Show in 2002 while their up-tempo 2005 debut The Album won high praise from the electronica crowd when they toured nationally (supporting the likes of The New Pollutants, Curse ov Dialect and Spoonbill).
The new album is a dark, illbient journey through the outer reaches of crunchy electro, illbient hip-hop and instrumental breaks. The Briztronix style has progressed into a post-hip hop blend of electro synths, jazzy horns, live instrumentation, ambient sampling and extra large beat programming. Structures of Canyons continues the collaboration of lifelong friends and band members Shazam and DJ Bacon as they produce and record a 17-track album of rich beatscapes strongly suggestive of the golden era of early Ninja Tune and Mo Wax releases. Call it Cut Copy meets Paso Bionic; or RJD2 mind-melding with Hermitude. Call it illbient, downtempo or electro – it's got beats, it's instrumental, it's dark.
