p.s. oh! and Lieven and I've finished another song at last. it's called 'wrath' and he's a dear and patient gentleman to wait since January for it. Of ALL the times I've perhaps had to sing into this song, it comes on a day I'm sick in bed and (literally) sang the entire thing under the covers. feel free to have a listen? I'd love to sing with you...I'd love to sing with you and have you make my voice sound like yours where it sounds like you're singing through the telephone.
Afraid is haunting!!!! my friend. I would love to hear more of the two of you together....maybe even a whole album one day...hint, hint
funny thing..just found out I had a really close old friend move up to Fayetteville. Might be seein you sooner than I thought let's talk about Feb or Mar..Let me know if you know of any good places to hit up
Salutations f, I really enjoyed your new work with 27 Horses and the new one with that fellow Chris. My very favorite right now is Letter to Alabama. Very Beautiful. My new album "enoculation" is complete. You can download it for free at this link http://www.last.fm/music/The+Surrogate+Ghost You will also be able to order a really cool hand drawn cover one with bonus tracks soon. Anyways, I hope all is well with you. Take care friend. ***joshua
i've been listening to these new songs. man, you sound great on your toes. 'afraid' is a bit scary in itself (i always picture you alone in woods whenever i hear you sing, and there's a full moon out), but it's just such a great soundscape. like a warm coat around the bareness of the song. this is great stuff. as is 'summer's ground'. the beginning made me think of a party that's been going on too late. The beat sounds dull on the dancefloor, empty except for the one drunk who will never accept the party being over. too much loneliness to go back home to maybe. and it works somehow. it's exciting this new path you are walking on. i'll be looking at you from a fair distance. and listening.
indeed man, too long. it's been such busy days work wise... i hope to be back in my quiet corner soon, and will talk to you from there...
i've been listening to the recording of your gig btw. that sounds great man. we definitely have to arrange something, for you to come over and play some shows together here. it has to happen. it just does.
I'm doing okay. Working on songs with my roommate. Very excited about them. I'll e-mail them to you sometime soon, when I get a decent number under my belt.
listening to "Abraham Demos"-some of them quite beautiful, raw and scary... "blood brothers", "morning of the war" and "red birds" the favorites thus far...
Hey F, I just uploaded an album of your yours on my ipod. I am not entirely sure of all the song names or even the album title, but it is the CD with the owl holding it's prey. If you could get me some of that info I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Old Soul
f, i know you're busy, but when you have the time, could you e-mail the my abraham tracks? i have "a haze of poison" and "before dawn" already. i really like the sound of those tracks.
