BROKEN MELODY born in Alghero (SS), in April 2006. Born as a project of traditional Hard Rock / Metal formed by Francesco Palmieri (Voice), Roberto ortu (Guitar and vocals), Riccardo Cherchi (Guitar), Gabriele Viviani (Bass Guitar) and Francesco Usai (Drums), the band evolves step by step toward a completely new and authentic sound.
In January 2007 the band began recording the first EP titled "If You Want to Fly" published in June 2007 and self produced the album "Face the World", published in August 2007. Throughout the time of birth, the band performs in several concerts and events, collecting more and more increasingly consensus and differs from more traditional genres of metal. Often mentioned by listeners, such as band worthy of attention and more disparate influences, the band crop an area of importance in the underground music scene in Sardinia and slowly in Italy. The criticism classifies the sound of Broken Melody as a mixture of AOR and Thrash Metal with injections that come from traditional rock and pop rock times since the early 90s. The EP "If You Want to Fly" is reviewed with lots of consensus and it will build the sound that will be proposed in the album "Face the World". The album received reviews of all kinds, without ever giving the possibility to criticism to classify the music proposed by the band, then approved a unanimous vote as "a new way of melodic metal."
From June to August 2007, the components Roberto Ortu and Francesco Palmieri formed the acoustic project “Broken Melody Acoustic Duo” which will see them engaged throughout the summer in acoustic performances, where they will do completely revised repertoire of songs and cover songs of the most famous artists.
The project received positive support, and it will continue in the years in different parts of the region, increasingly enriching the repertory and adding a third element (Emanuele Ninu, which will enter into the band in a permanent way since 2007). From there onwards, the project will be called “Broken Melody Acoustic Trio”.
In September 2007 the band signs an agreement with Alkemist Fanatix Europe management who will represent them across Europe.
In 2007, guitarist Riccardo Cherchi leave the band and he will be replaced by Emanuele Ninu that will lead the band with Glam and Street Rock influences from the 80s. Emanuele's contribution is crucial, so, the band fray again their cards and the concerts to be performed with the new formation, will give the opportunity once again to the band to confirm to the public as a new reality of the metal scene. The public describes the band as a plunge in the past, the concerts are alive, the members have fun playing, drag the listener, and live each moment with intensity.
In January 2008, Broken Melody enter again in studio to record new material. They record the new promo "The Beast Within 'Promo'08". The sound is upset again and finally joins two worlds of music, such as the AOR and Thrash Metal, with the thousand melodic influences that have always characterized their sound.
In June 2008 the band signed the first contract with Copro Records (UK) and Plastic Head for worldwide distribution and with Alkemist Fanatix Europe, confirms the entry in studio to record the new album at Real Sound Studio in Parma form May 2009.
In August 2008 the band won the AlgueRock competition, confirming the band as one of the most important music proposal of northern Sardinia.
In September 2008, the band received the first endorsement contracts with Musician Star Wear (line of rock apparel), GHS Strings and In Tune Guitar Picks.
In November 2008, the band signs a contract with the TSM Promotions Agency in England, which will see the agency committed to the promotion of the band throughout the united kingdom.
In October 2009, the album MIRRORING IDENTITIES will be published by Copro Records.

I BROKEN MELODY nascono ad Alghero (SS), nell’aprile del 2006. Nati come un progetto di Hard Rock/Metal tradizionale che vede tra le file Francesco Palmieri (Voce), Roberto Ortu (Chitarra e voce), Riccardo Cherchi (Chitarra), Gabriele Viviani (Basso) e Francesco Usai (Batteria), la band si evolve passo dopo passo verso un sound completamente nuovo e personale.
Nel Gennaio del 2007 la band inizia le registrazioni del primo EP intitolato “If You Want to Fly” pubblicato nel giugno 2007 e dell’album autoprodotto “Face the World”, pubblicato nell’agosto 2007. Durante tutto il primo periodo di vita, la band si esibisce in numerosi concerti e manifestazioni, riscuotendo un numero sempre maggiore di consensi e differenziandosi sempre più dai generi più classici del metal. Spesso indicati dagli ascoltatori, come band degna di attenzione e dalle influenze più disparate, la band si ritaglia uno spazio di importanza nel panorama musicale underground della Sardegna e lentamente anche in Italia. La critica classifica il sound dei Broken Melody come un misto di AOR e Thrash Metal con iniezioni che vengono dal rock tradizionale e a volte dal pop rock dei primi anni ’90. L’EP “If You Want to Fly” viene recensito con tantissimi consensi e farà da apripista al sound che verrà proposto nell’album “Face the World”. L’album riceve recensioni di ogni tipo, senza mai dare la possibilità alla critica di classificare esattamente il genere proposto dalla band, riconosciuto poi a voto unanime come “la nuova strada del metal melodico”.
Dal giugno all’agosto 2007, i componenti Roberto Ortu e Francesco Palmieri formano il progetto acustico Broken Melody Acoustic Duo che li vedrà impegnati durante tutta la stagione estiva in esibizioni acustiche, dove verranno completamente rivisitati i brani del repertorio più alcune cover di artisti famosi. Il progetto, accolto con consensi positivi, proseguirà negli anni in diverse parti della regione, arricchendo sempre più il repertorio e aggiungendo poi un terzo elemento (Emanuele Ninu, che entrerà in pianta stabile dall’ottobre 2007). Da li in poi il progetto sarà denominato Broken Melody Acoustic Trio.
Nel settembre 2007 la band sigla un accordo di management con Alkemist Fanatix Europe che li rappresenterà in tutto il territorio europeo.
Nell’ottobre 2007, il chitarrista Riccardo Cherchi lascia la band e viene sostituito da Emanuele Ninu che porterà nella band un’influenza di Street Rock e Glam proveniente dalla corrente degli anni ’80. Il contributo di Emanuele si rivela fondamentale a tal punto che la band mischia nuovamente le proprie carte e i concerti che verranno eseguiti con la nuova formazione, daranno la possibilità ancora una volta alla band di confermarsi al pubblico come una nuova realtà del panorama metal. Il pubblico descrive la band come un tuffo nel passato, i concerti sono vivi, i componenti suonano divertiti, trascinano l’ascoltatore e vivono ogni momento con intensità.
Nel gennaio 2008 i Broken Melody rientrano in studio per registrare nuovo materiale. Danno così vita a “The Beast Within’ Promo ‘08”. Il sound viene stravolto ancora una volta e unisce definitivamente due mondi musicali, quali l’AOR e il Thrash Metal, con le mille sfumature melodiche che hanno sempre caratterizzato il loro sound.
Nel giugno 2008 la band firma il primo contratto discografico con Copro Records (UK) a distribuzione mondiale Plastic Head e, insieme ad Alkemist Fanatix Europe, conferma l’entrata in studio per la registrazione del nuovo album presso i Real Sound Studio di Parma nel maggio 2009.
Nell’agosto 2008 vincono il concorso AlgueRock confermandosi come una delle più importanti realtà musicali del nord sardegna.
Nel settembre 2008 la band riceve i primi contratti di endorsement con la Musician Star Wear (linea di abbigliamento rock), GHS Strings e In Tune Guitar Picks.
Nel novembre 2008 la band sigla un contratto di marketing capillare con la TSM Promotions in Inghilterra, che vedrà l’agenzia impegnata nella promozione dell’immagine della band in tutto il territorio del Regno Unito.
Nell’ottobre 2009 la band pubblicherà il primo album ufficiale MIRRORING IDENTITIES.
